Prince Baran (Earth-616)

Prince Baran was once the ruler of the tiny island nation of Madripoor from a long line of pirates, involved with numerous criminal activities, and employed Jessica Drew and Lindsay McCabe as agents. To avoid a costly gang war, he oversaw the division of crime in Madripoor between two crime lords instead of the traditional sole lord. Tyger Tiger commanded most of the criminal forces, while General Coy dealt in the drugs and slave trade which the Tiger wouldn't touch.^[1]

Baran attempted to frame Wolverine for the murder of his friends at the Princess Bar. Baran and General Coy had actually hired assassins to do the job, but Wolverine discovered the truth. Baran was shot by Coy after the General had attempted to blame the entire situation on him.^[2]
