Plot[]

A few years ago, Bruce Banner was a scientist. One day, an accident happened when he was working with gamma radiation that caused him to transform into the Hulk, accidently hurting his friend, Betty Ross. Not wanting it to ever happen again he did his best to control his heart rate and he moved to Brazil. He worked in a factory while he worked with Mr. Blue online to discover an antidote: Corablanca. However, he ran out so he sent a blood sample to Mr. Blue and returned to the united States to find records. He runs into Ross and the two embrace. Banner couldn't find the information he needed from the lab but Ross had a data card wiht the information Mr. Blue needed. He also told him Mr. Blue's identity: Samuel Sterns. They went to the Bus Station to go to New York City, where Sterns is based. However, they were ambushed by soldiers. Banner transformed into the Hulk and grabbed Ross, escaping and hiding in a cave. After Banner de-transformed, they moved to Dr. Sterns's lab in New York City. Sterns bound banner in a machine, and used electricity to force the transformation into the Hulk. He then used the antidote and it worked. Sterns than explained that while the Antidote does not stop the Hulk from coming out, it gives Banner control over it. Soldiers then busted into the lab and took Banner and Ross into custody. As they were flying away they realize that one of the soldiers had been injected with Banner's blood in Sterns's lab. He had transformed into The Abomination and was now wrecking havoc on the city. Hulk decided he had to help, jumping down to battle him. Now with some control over the Hulk, he resolved to win this battle and he realized he is the not the monster but the hero.

Behind the Scenes[]

Continuity[]

This book has many differences with The Incredible Hulk. Corablanca is a successful antidote. Bruce Banner just needs more from Mr. Blue. He goes back to United States because of this and to find records. There is no mention of the United States Army looking for him in Brazil nor is there an Ambush in Porto Verde. Betty Ross knows that Mr. Blue is Samuel Sterns and is the one who informs him about him. She also gives him the records hw needs. There is no Battle at Culver University, instead there is a Ambush at the Bus Station, which Banner escapes from immediately. Sterns' cure is succesful but does not prevent the Hulk from coming out, but rather allows Banner to have some control while being the Hulk. At the end, Banner turns into Hulk before landing in the helicopter jump, and still feels like himself, which does not happen in the movie. Therefore, the content of this book is deemed non-canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity.
