Glamorous Glennis in flight

A Bell X-1, nicknamed the Glamorous Glennis, registry 6062, was a mid-20th century experimental rocket airplane flown by Chuck Yeager when he broke the sound barrier in 1947.

This plane was later assigned to the Air Materiel Command Flight Test Division, which was located at Wright Field. (Star Trek: Enterprise, opening credits)

Footage of the aircraft in flight is shown in the opening credits of Star Trek: Enterprise.

Yeager named the plane after his wife.
