According to a malfunctioning holoprogram, Kirk-Gorn friends-to-something-more was a holographic program developed by Bradward Boimler.
It apparently was a work of fan fiction that had something to do with James T. Kirk and a Gorn that was his friend, but apparently that relationship developed into "something-more."
Ensign Boimler was under the impression that this program was a secret, since he had it well hidden in his personal files. However, when he learns that D'Vana Tendi located it, he was very embarrassed and he even spit his drink out all over the holodeck floor from the surprise. (VST: "Holograms All the Way Down")
