Lisa Neeley and Paul Gordon in A Time to Stand[]

Why did someone decide that the unnamed characters in A Time to Stand were "presumably" Lisa Neeley and Paul Gordon even though they were played by different actors? --NetSpiker (talk) 05:11, March 7, 2018 (UTC)

Seeing as the first episode sets up and transitions into the second episode, the most common sense response would be that the minor characters, stand-in characters if you will, were upgraded to guest star characters with actors more suited for the role. --Alan (talk) 05:26, March 7, 2018 (UTC)

If there are two different actors, common sense indicates that they are two different characters unless there is evidence to the contrary. Bill Blair's picture is also listed as "Human crewman 6" in thee Unnamed Deep Space 9 Starfleet operations division personnel list. --NetSpiker (talk) 05:38, March 7, 2018 (UTC)

Not when they are doing a bait and switch. Otherwise using your faulty logic, Saavik, Airiam, R. Azar, Bok, Braxton, Kimara Cretak and a buttload of others would be different characters. --Alan (talk) 18:36, October 15, 2020 (UTC)

First name[]

As I have commented elsewhere, I don't understand why we no longer use character first names when they are given in scripts. - DS9 Forever (talk) 23:17, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

And it has been answered elsewhere. If they are named on screen, then, period. –Gvsualan (talk) 23:56, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

And if they are not named on screen, we use the script then? Sorry sir, still doesn't make sense to me. - DS9 Forever (talk) 19:30, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

Exactly. If we have a name, then we don't refer to the script, or again, if they are named on screen, then, period. –Gvsualan (talk) 19:35, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
It keeps significant characters from winding up in unnamed species member pages more often than not. An organizational measure. When was this decided, incidentally? I forget (if I ever knew). --LauraCC (talk) 14:57, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

How time flies. 5 years ago and I was involved somewhat. Thanks. --LauraCC (talk) 14:22, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
