Triexians were a race residing on the planet Triex in the Alpha Quadrant. Triexians were distinguished by their three arms, three legs, an elongated skull, and orange-to-pink skin. Triexians bore resemblances to Edosians.

Biology[]

Triexians were a long-lived species, with lifespans stretching to centuries. Elder Triexians lapsed into a death-like state every twenty-five years, then molted their skins and re-emerged in what was called the Rebirth. (NF - No Limits short story: "The Road to Edos")

They were susceptible to the Dramia II plague. (TAS episode: "Albatross")

History[]

Many Triexians served in Starfleet over the years, including Lieutenant Arex Na Eth. (NF - Gateways novel: Cold Wars; NF - No Limits short story: "The Road to Edos")

Arex was identified as an Edoan in Alan Dean Foster's Star Trek Logs novelizations, based on never-aired background information from TAS. The New Frontier series states that he was actually a Triexian, and the root of the confusion touched upon in "The Road to Edos". However, Adventures RPG module: The Animated Series Supplemental Guide establishes Arex as an Edosian. Given the dual references, it seems possible there is some sort of correlation between the two cultures, despite the characters' denial of that fact in "The Road to Edos", which might be taken as a "tongue-in-cheek" kind of comment rather than a biological fact.
