A Vote of No Confidence, also known as a Motion of No Confidence is a statement or vote that a person in government is no longer fit to exercise their office.

On some Federation member worlds and colonies, a vote of no confidence was sufficient to remove a person from political office.

In 2246, Adrian Kodos was able to engineer a vote of no confidence against Tarsus IV Governor Gisela Ribeiro by the colony's leadership council. With the vote being successful, Ribeiro was removed from office and Kodos appointed to take her place. After the Tarsus IV Massacre Ribeiro was allowed to resume her office.
