A Watcher was an artificial intelligence, a lifeform with the appearance of insectoid robots. They were deployed by the Diviner on the prison colony Tars Lamora in the 24th century to control the enslaved workforce. (PRD episode: "Lost and Found")
History and specifics[]
The Watchers were active on Tars Lamora around the 2380s decade. Watchers stopped Dal R'El from escaping the prison. However, Dal became part of a crew of the Unwanted and they escaped with the derelict Federation starship USS Protostar in the year 2383. (PRD episode: "Lost and Found")
The Diviner briefly seized control of the Protostar in 2384. At that time, his second-in-command Drednok deactivated the Watchers. (PRD episode: "A Moral Star")
Dal and Gwyn were bemused to find active Watchers on Orisi after the Protostar crash-landed on that planet. The Watchers of Orisi had specialized into different types, including ranged Watchers and claw Watchers. The Watchers began stealing technology and hardware from the Protostar, turning the ship's crew against them. (PRD video game: Supernova)
