When Dai Sawamura and Shu Karasuma emits the code Shouketsu (焼結 Shōketsu?, lit. "Sintering"), the Plasma Blue Energy (プラズマ・ブルーエネルー Purazuma Burū Enerugī?) is emitted from the battleship Vavilos, and is sintered into Shaider by the Combat Suit (コンバットスーツ Konbatto Sūtsu?) made of special light alloy Granium α (グラニュームαアルファ Guranyūmu Arufa?). The time required for Shouketsu process is only 1 millisecond (one thousandth of a second), similar to Sharivan[1][2]. Shown in the series that if voice code recognition is not possible, Annie can manually activate the process.

Shaider's Combat Suit is consisting with the following parts:

  • Target Synchronizer (ターゲットシンクロナイザー Tāgetto Shinkuronaizā?): The forehead.
  • Shaider Scope (シャイダースコープ Shaidā Sukōpu?)[1]: The fluoroscopy and analysis scope inside the goggles. It catches light of various wavelengths such as infrared rays and X-rays, and memorizes and analyzes them. It also has excellent see-through ability, and can see through concrete walls with a thickness of 50 cm. Since the goggles prevented the hypnotic flash of the Fushigi Beast Surisuri, contact lenses were created from the same material as the goggles, and were used by Dai and Annie.
  • Shaider Sound Sensor (シャイダーサウンドセンサー Shaidā Saundo Sensā?): A highly sensitive sensors built into both ears. It also intercepts and analyzes communication by sound waves, radio waves, and mind waves. It picks up even faint sounds from 10km away. Shaider also can communicate with Vavilos.
  • Main Computer (メインコンピューター Mein Konpyūtā?)
  • Dimension Controller (ディメンションコントローラー Dimenshon Kontorōrā?): A device on his chest that enables activities in different dimensions and outer space.
  • Energy Regulator (エネルギーレギュレーター Enerugī Regyurētā?)
  • Combat Servo Computer (戦闘用サーボコンピューター Sentō-yō Sābo Konpyūta?): A small high-performance computer are arranged on both arms and legs to support the wearer, who has little combat experience.
  • Hover Jet (ホバージェット Hobā Jetto?): A device for jumping, inside the soles.

Notes[]

  • In the Philippine dub, he calls his codename as Shaider instead of Shouketsu.
  • The name "Shaider" comes from American actor Roy Scheider, most notably after the writers had watched his performance in the 1975 horror movie Jaws.
  • In the Philippine Dub, it was dubbed by two broadcasting systems. It was originally dubbed in ABS-CBN in 1989-1990 and was replayed in IBC-13 in 1992 to 1998. In 2005, it was redubbed by the GMA Network.
