Lt. Byron Cook World War I Veteran and Aviation PioneerI have a friend who showed me a photo of his grandfather sitting in the cockpit of a bi-plane from World War I named Lt. Byron Cook. He did not know much about Cook's service but in trying to find out more about him, I learned a great deal about the early struggles of creating an air force out of virtually nothing in a very short time. Lt. Cook was a pioneer of sorts as one of the first American military aviators bravely risking his life in training other pilots for combat.John McNeerMilitary AircraftCopyright Free PhotosWw1 PlanesWw1 AircraftBritish AircraftModern WarfareZeppelinThe SkyAircraft
