Zone 7 Gardening on Instagram: "I’d like to state first of all that this was my VERY FIRST attempt at weaving anything… so that’s partly to say don’t judge me 😂 but also to encourage those of you who think you can’t make one!   The concept, I think, is very straightforward, but I did learn some lessons about the importance of the materials used. Most of these sprouts were taken from what I’m pretty sure is a Black Willow on the edge of my property. It’s definitely not the best weaving Willow by far… but it seems to have done the job okay. The rods (small branches) seemed a lot more fragile and significantly shorter than most willows traditionally used for weaving.
