Item Details. A Suzani from Central Asia dating from the early to mid 19th century. Silk hand embroidered chainstitch on a narrow width, hand loomed cotton ground. Pale terracotta ground with original striped cotton bound borders intact. Made as a traditional dowry hanging by a young woman with a group of woman from her family, and then intended for use as a cover or a decorative tent hanging.
