This jewelry chest started as a sad brown wallflower that cleaned up nicely to become all flowery sunshine. The large box was painted in base coats of Dixie Belle’s chalk paint in lemonade. That was followed with stenciling all over in Annie Sloan’s chalk paint in English yellow, with lots of sanding to mute the stenciled design. I then mixed and matched floral transfers from a few different sources, tying them all together to add subtle touches of purple to go with the new lining. The exterior was sealed with clear coat, while the drawer sides were sealed with clear wax. New drawer pulls, new feet and new lining in purple velvet flocking material.
