This unique cabinet would make a beautiful statement in your home. Made from solid Cherry, the contoured tambour doors effortlessly roll into the rear of the unit, exposing the matching inner panel. Built from contiguous lumber, the grain flows across the doors making a striking statement. There is absolutely no plywood or manmade material here. This is a lifetime furniture investment. The rough sawn lumber used in this cabinet was air dried in my shop for more than five years and milled for the project. After the door panels were glued up they were carefully cut into more than fifty strips and bonded to cotton fabric in the exact order they came from the lumber. Next, the panels were mounted on the CNC for carving the patterns. Finally, many hours of hand sanding through multiple grits was needed with constant inspections to remove all milling marks. Assembly was done using mortise and tenon construction, eliminating the need for screws. Positive stops in the front and rear ensure perfectly centered doors when open and closed. At the rear of the cabinet I have installed mounting cleats made from solid White Oak with a matching cleat for hidden wall mounting if desired. The finish used is Rubio Monocoat Plus 2c, a zero VOC hardwax oil protector that's linseed-based. I am open to special requests for personalization, such as LED lighting, a name plaque, a special fixture for insider (glasses?), etc. Shipping will include a custom wooden enclosure and ultra custom protection from damage.
