Jackie Talmey-Lennon on Instagram: "Again with the no waste chuck. No store-bought gadgets; no bisque firing; no studio clutter; no permanent chucks. I just throw the chuck with a bottom inside, let it firm up, use it, then get witchy and make it into a cauldron. #nowaste #thepartyouthrowaway #tomwaits #patiopottery #balconypotter #eastvan #clarkdrive #eastvanpottery #vancouverceramics" Gadgets, Ceramics, Instagram, Bisque Pottery, Throwing Clay, No Waste, August 26, Make It, On Instagram

Marcia Selleri on Instagram: "I want to show you my technique for using bisque fix. Bisque Fix is a white paste that can be used to mend bisque ceramics that are broken or have holes. It can also be colored to match the bisque using metal oxides or ceramic stains. And you can use it up to Cone 10!! 🤩 I would appreciate any comments or advice from you. Please share your thoughts and any other tips you have. 🙌✨ . . . #handbuiltceramics #ceramicstudio #ceramicartist #brokenbeetle #marselbottega" Ceramic Stains, Bisque Ceramics, Bisque Pottery, Pottery Lessons, Ceramic Bisque, November 9, Ceramic Studio, Ceramic Artists, Hand Built

Mug bottoms part 2! In my last reel I shared how I #screenprint my signature #underglazetransfers and today I’m sharing how I apply them.

I start with bisque pots and add a little bit of washy color applied as a watered down underglaze. I like the look of a little color behind the print and it goes along with my #branding 💁‍♀️.

Next I position the transfers, print side down, over the color blob #technicalterm and use a damp sponge to press the image onto the clay. A bit of water and pressure from the sponge transfer the underglaze from the rice paper to the pottery, just like a #temporarytattoo !

I wax over these before glazing with a little alumina wax so nothing sticks to the kiln shelf.
