Lady Slipper Orchid in the Orchideeënhoeve (Orchid Farm) in Luttelgeest, the Netherlands. The popular paphiopedilums (genus Paphiopedilum), often abbreviated Paph, are flowering plants in the orchid family (Orchidaceae). The name Paphiopedilum is derived from Greek word paphius and pedilon, wich means shoes. The populair name for Paphiopedilum is Lady Slipper.
