The first publication of all 3 pts. Pt. 1 first published at Siena by Luca Bonetti in 1578, and again in Venice by de' Francheschi in 1589. See Landwehr.

Engraved emblematic device on t.p. On a7v is port. of Emperor Rudolph II; full-page laudatory engraved emblem facing on a8r, explanatory sonnet on verso. The 138 emblems in the text are in oval frames on which the Latin mottos appear, followed by explanations in prose. Woodcut head-pieces, initials.

"Delle lodi dell'accademie. Oratione di Scipion Bargagli, M.D.LIX. Riformata nouamente, e ristampata": 2L5r-2N6r.
