Handmade ceramic pedestal bowl, Rainforest Green, wheel thrown pottery fruit bowl, footed bowl

This ceramic pedestal bowl is glazed in layers of rich greens that flow together to create beautiful patterns within the glaze. It could be used for fruit, as a table centrepiece, or simply as a decorative item. The underside and inside pedestal are unglazed, showing the natural colour and texture of the clay. Hand thrown from white stoneware clay at my home studio in Wokingham. Approx 19 cm across at rim and 19 cm high Pieces are thrown on the wheel, finished by hand when they have partially dried, and bisque fired in the kiln to 950 degrees. I then glaze the pieces before firing them again to 1250 degrees. The process can take up to 4 weeks. I use lead free glazes and my work is dishwasher and microwave proof, although I recommend hand washing. No two pieces are ever the same, each item I make is unique and handcrafted, taking many hours to complete. Any imperfections reflect the unique quality of each handmade item.
