Machine Empire Baranoia

This article is about a villainous organization in Chouriki Sentai Ohranger.

The Machine Empire Baranoia (マシン帝国バラノイア, Mashin Teikoku Baranoia) was a cruel race of mechanical beings that attempted to conquer Earth as the first step to conquering the universe.

Baranoia was founded by Bacchus Wrath, a robot who was created on Pangaea 600 million years ago. Following a failed robot rebellion against their creators, the Dorin, and the ancient humans, Bacchus Wrath, the sole survivor of the rebellion, exiled himself into space. He erected the Baranoia Empire, creating members of his family, as well as new Machine Beasts to replenish his forces. TV STORY-Ep. 26: The 600-Million-Year-Old Boy Warrior

Possessing a vast army, Baranoia's Imperial Family was a force to reckon with, having already conquered an entire chain of galaxies before reaching Earth. However, their jester (Bomber the Great) tried to usurp Bacchus for rulership of the empire and was sent into the far reaches of space as punishment.

Ohranger[]

The Machine Empire Baranoia arrives on Earth to invade in 1995, establishing a palace on the Moon from which to command the invasion. They send an army of Takonpas and Barlo Soldiers led by Bara Drill to invade but he is killed and the invasion repelled by the new Ohrangers. TV STORY-Ep. 1: Invasion!! 1999

When Bacchus Wrath is killed in battle by OhBlocker, the royal family is left leaderless with Empress Hysteria as the default leader. TV STORY-Ep. 34: The Emperor's Final Challenge

Upon hearing of the death of Bacchus Wrath however, Bomber the Great returns to the Baranoia Palace to try and take over once again and succeeds this time. This time, he set his sights on trying to take over the empty throne. TV STORY-Ep. 35: The Radical Bomb Guy

After revising the Baranoia Constitution, Art 12, Bomber challenges Buldont to a duel for the Empire which he wins and banishes Buldont, and later Empress Hysteria, proclaiming himself "Bomber the Great the 1st, New Emperor of Baranoia" (ボンバー・ザ・グレート最初 バラノイアの新皇帝, Bonbā za Gurēto Saisho Baranoia no Shin Kōtei). At first, being new to the throne, Bomber does his best at leading the Empire, trying to win Hysteria's affections and to kill the Ohrangers in the process, but consistently meets with failure in both prospects. Bomber the Great is cornered by Kaiser Buldont (rebuilt by the last remains of his father) and his cousin Princess Multiwa when they return to the moon and take control of Bomber by reprogramming him. Bomber is soon sent on a suicide mission to kill the OhRangers but is destroyed by a massive ball of fire thrown his way by King Pyramider Battle Formation with OhBlocker as the source mecha before he can accomplish this. He is rebuilt shortly afterwards in his missile form to destroy the sun only to be flung towards the other side of space by Gunmazin. TV STORY-Ep. 41: The Dangerous Couple!!

Buldont regains the leadership of Baranoia and marries Multiwa to become Emperor Buldont. After many schemes and failures, Buldont launches a massive invasion with Bara Micron at the helm whose powers can neutralize the Super Power and render the Ohrangers helpless. However, Dorin is able to use her powers to restore the Ohrangers' powers and kill Bara Micron which leads to the complete destruction of the remaining Baranoia forces. TV STORY-Ep. 46: Earth's Final Day!!

With the Baranoia Empire completely decimated, Buldont launches one desperate final attack with Multiwa by attacking the Ohrangers and enlarging themselves to giant size to end things. However, they are no match for the Ohrangers' teamwork and are killed by the King Pyramidder Battle Formation even as they claim that the Empire will live on. With the Baranoia completely decimated, the Ohrangers storm the Baranoia Palace only to be given a baby by Empress Hysteria who then kills herself to atone for her actions. The Ohrangers disband shortly thereafter whilst Gunmazin takes Buldont Jr to his homeworld with Butlers Acha & Kocha going to redeem themselves; officially disbanding the Machine Empire Baranoia. Carranger[]

Despite the Baranoia Empire's demise, the final Machine Beast Bara Mobile is not present for Bacchus Wrath's invasion and thus is the final remnant of the Baranoia. With the Barlo Soldiers all having been destroyed by Dorin, Bara Mobile is forced to enlist the aid of the Space Bosozoku Bowzock and thier Combatant Wumpers for muscle. His plan is to establish his own empire of "car-people" by transforming humans into Machine Beast-organic hybrids and use their unstoppable powers to conquer the universe. He is eventually able to convince Kyosuke Jinnai that he is friend, not foe and that the Ohrangers are their enemy. He is initially aided by the Carrangers in the fight against the Ohrangers due to confusion between the teams only to retreat when Ohranger Robo and RV Robo go into battle against one another but both pursue him onto a dam at which point the Bowzock arrive and rescue him. He later kidnaps Goru to make him the first of his "car-people" only to be thwarted by Kyosuke breaking him free. Both teams escape at which point Bara Mobile asks the Bowzock for help and Gynamo (convinced that he can help them conquer Earth) sends SS Sutatanzo went with a platoon of Combatant Wumpers to aid Bara Mobile in destroying the Sentai teams. However, the Carrangers and Ohrangers easily beat them and Bara Mobile is taken out by the Olé Bazooka. It is then that Sutatanzo eats imo-youkan and Bara Mobile enlarges himself whilst a mysterious figure sends down Norishiron Extra. Despite this, Bara Mobile is quickly killed by Ohranger Robo's Crown Final Crash and takes any last hopes of the Machine Empire Baranoia's rebirth down with him. Los Dark[]

Several Barlo Soldiers are part of an army of past enemy grunts that fight the Gokaigers in Los Dark's ghost dimension which houses the 1500 spirits of the villains defeated by the Super Sentai. After losing some of their number in an initial skirmish, the remaining members from each grunt group merge to form the Combined Combatant. Though the stronger opponent, the Combined Combatant proves to be unstable due to internal conflicting among the grunts composing him over who got to finish the pirates off. Taking advantage, the Gokaigers use the Battle Fever J Ranger Keys to destroy the Combined Combatant with the Penta Force cannon. TV STORY-Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger the Movie: The Flying Ghost Ship

The Baracticas (バラクティカ, Barakutikas) are gear shaped battleships used by Baranoians as transportation to Earth. Each Baractica holds a hundred Takonpas (タコンパス, Takonpasu) jet fighters.

• "Baranoia" is a pun on "paranoia", while the main members of the Machine Empire Baranoia have puns on dog breeds or names of Roman deities.

  • Multiwa → Maltese/Chihuahua

Notes[]

• Baranoia was the first villain group to actually succeed in conquering Earth, an achievement that had not been successfully accomplished by any previous villains and would not happen again until the Space Shogunate Jark Matter in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger twenty four years later.
