Tokyo is the capital city of Japan and thus the center of most of the action in Super Sentai & Power Rangers. It is protected by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.
Overview[]
Tokyo before 1977 was facing no imminent threat before the attack of the Black Cross Army and their invasion of the city. Soon the Gorengers were assembled to stop them and after that Tokyo has been saved by the Super Sentai ever since. Tokyo came into a large predicament when Star King Bazoo decided to destroy Earth and consume it for his own desires. If not for the Changeman plunging and killing Bazoo then Tokyo would obviously be engulfed. The next time they came into major threat was the darkness that Zeba wanted to spread throughout the Earth which too failed because of the Maskman. Another last example is when Great Professor Bias for a short time, enslaved all of Tokyo until Yusuke saved them all. Such events throughout the next many years occurred usually during the finale. As for most days a villain organization used the city's inhabitants most times for their cruel plans. In early years, this would mostly center around children being turned into being kidnapped or given bad fates such as deals by the villains or plain out torture at times. Our heroes therefore needed to be their rescuers and teach these residents a lesson. In later years, this became more centered around anybody and explored their challenges. Once again the formula remained mostly the same though. This is not to say though that most team members lived in Tokyo and were citizens themselves. Often working jobs or in the Turborangers' and Megarangers' case going to school there. Rangers in their free time shopped and enjoyed themselves around the vast city until trouble came around which in that case monsters of the week are combated on the streets. In the 31st century, the Time Defense Bureau outlaws time travel after the Category:Londerz Family uses it to go to the 21st century.
