On our way up north (in a rather remote area of Michigan) we saw this most curious billboard. I have no idea what it means ... but, I'll admit ... I do rather like it.

New for 2015, "Over the Edge", the new fun size version! "Over the Edge" was one of the first workshops I ever offered. I unfortunately had to stop offering it due to problems getting the binders I needed for the workshop. However ... I have now come up with a smaller version with all the bells and whistles of the original! All the sewn, beaded and buttoned edges with even more fun page shapes. Watch for it in upcoming announcements for events in 2015 ... but beware of imitations, I am sad…

I love drawings in journals and I think all of us journalers should do it more often. Unfortunately, I am not as good at keeping up with my drawing skills as I should. It really is a skill that needs to be practiced regularly. This journal is somewhat newish. It's a larger journal than what I usually work in, being 10" X 12" X 2 1/2" thick" and is constructed with 1/4" plywood covers. A very stout journal indeed ... just the way I like them. I made a journal specifically for JournalFest. Before I had a source for the chipboard binders I made this journal by striping a vinyl binder and recovering it. Below is a portion of the collage material that came with my confirmation packet. Each instructor was ask to send some material that could be included. I am still working on this Tunnel Book/Journal. I'm pleased with how it's coming along and look forward to having more time to work on it. There is an end in sight to finishing up with the major chore of revamping our kitchen. We have claimed this to be "The Year of the Major Appliance". Last time we had to replace all the major appliances in our home, we moved 5 months later ... ended up leaving most of them. Hope this isn't a repeat.

This is one of two tunnel books I am working on. This one is 10" X 10" and will be primarily black and White. The other is 8" X 8" and will be in vintage colors. This is still very much in the beginning stages but I wanted to share a few photos of it at this point. I always like to see how a project progresses and thought I would share it.

I so rarely am able to complete a journal these days. Actually, it's probably been a few years since I have. However, just the other day I completed the beading on the spine and finished the last page in this Hand Book. Today I took the time to photograph each and every page.
