Beyer House by John Lautner Lechuza Point, Malibu — 1975 Fun fact: In collaboration with interior designer Michael Taylor, Lautner thoughtfully placed colossal granite boulders, weighing anywhere from 3 to 21 tons each, around the house. The task of moving these rocks from a riverbed located in Central California proved to be an extensive and expensive operation. Michael Taylor was born in 1952 in Sussex County, Great Britain. and studied at the Worthing School of Art (1969-70) and Goldsmiths School of Art (1970-73). He has received many awards for his paintings and undertaken a number of important portrait commissions.
