To Hindus the Narmada River in Maheshwar is one of the seven holy rivers of India and draws many pilgrims and sadhus to the ghats and temples. The pilgrims arrive early in the morning for the ritual bath in the river. They are extremly friendly and open to foreigners. I met this man with his wife and other pilgrims on the riverbank the day before. Early in the morning I met him again doing his ritual bath. He was so happy and proud that I took pictures of him.
