This is a lesson plan for an elementary art lesson in which students draw and use construction paper to create a fall landscape. In the first lesson, students draw the background. In the second lesson they cut and tear construction paper to make a tree for the foreground.

Autumn Tree: Cut the tree from a paper grocery bag. Glue it onto a large sheet of construction paper. Create leaves by tearing autumn colored construction paper into pieces. Glue the torn pieces on the tree and around the base. This is a great craft for very young groups if you precut the trees. The paper tearing is the fun part! This is a lovely art lesson to do during the Autumn season with the lovely colors a changin. I talked a little about Autumn, but didn't spend a lot of time on this since by 4th grade the students are pretty educated on seasons already.
