When I talk with my doula clients and childbirth education students, after they have given birth they often comment that the practice that they did prior to birth was a huge help during labor and birth. I believe that couples who spend time practicing comfort measures and coping techniques before the first contraction even starts feel more relaxed and prepared for the big day.

I had a 24 hour unmedicated labor. Yes, 24 hours of labor with no epidural. So I can speak from experience when I say you can have an unmedicated hospital birth.
