Amy Dolls mostly resemble miniature copies of Amy Rose, each with a pink head and pair of legs, tan arms, a tan muzzle, two large black eyes, a black nose, and a gray antenna extending from the top of their head with a red crystal on top of it. They also mimic Amy's attire, each wearing white shoes with pink stripes, an orange skirt, a green blouse and a red headband. Although they appear to have no mouth at first, they reveal a mischievous grin upon attacking a target.
In Sonic Mania, and its expansion Sonic Mania Plus, Amy Dolls appear exclusively in Metallic Madness Zone Act 2, as enemies dispensed by the Gachapandora. However, out of the eight pods the Gachapandora contains, the amount of which are Amy Dolls is subject to randomness. In gameplay, Upon being released, Amy Dolls will charge toward the player should they lie within a short distance, in an attempt to hug them, and subsequently detonate. Alternatively, they will stand still in wait if the player remains far off. Should the player try to attack an Amy Doll with a Spin Jump, it will deflect it with a short hop. Regardless, Amy Dolls can be easily defeated by attacking them with a Spin Attack or Spin Dash.
Powers and abilities[]
In addition to being capable of making somewhat large hops, Amy Dolls can detonate themselves at will.
The Amy Doll mimics the animations the original character performed in Sonic the Hedgehog CD. It also seems to borrow elements from the Tails Doll, featuring the same round, blank eyes and red-tipped antenna, and even a similar name.
