Sonic the Hedgehog: Crash Course[1] is a board game released by IDW Games in 2018. It is a racing game for 2 to 4 players featuring Classic characters. The game was designed by Sean McDonald with art by Kris Aubin.
The limited edition of Crash Course was first available from GameStop. It came with a copy of IDW Publishing's Sonic the Hedgehog #1 featuring a retailer exclusive cover by Kieran Gates, as well as a Classic Sonic pin badge.[2] First revealed in March 2018 at the GAMA Trade Show, the game was originally scheduled to be released on 25 July 2018.[3][4] However, it would see multiple delays before finally releasing in December 2018 in GameStop stores, with wider availability in early 2019.[4][5][6]

The race takes place on a Green Hill Zone-themed track, with Buzz Bombers and spikes for hazards, as well as Springs and Boosters.
Trivia[]
- Original press material referred to the Chaos Emeralds as the collectable objectives, instead of Flickies.[3]
- Flickies are called "Flicky Birds" in this game and are based after the multicolored ones seen in Sonic 3D Blast.
- The official description for the product refers to Knuckles as "Knuckes", rather than his full name. Despite this, Doctor Eggman is referred to by his full name "Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik"
- It's also possible that this could be a simple typo in Knuckles' name, although no other characters apart from Dr. Eggman are going by their full names, so this is highly unlikely.
