The Conquest of Manaan was a confrontation that took place in 13,220 BBY at the Inner Rim^[1] oceanic planet^[2] Manaan. The planet was situated in the region actively controlled by the Grand Companies—trading conglomerates based along the hyperlane known as the Spin and backed by Coruscant, the capital world of the Galactic Republic—and lay along hyperspace routes controlled by Coruscant.^[1]

The Conquest of Manaan was a late engagement of the Fourth Alsakan Conflict, a war that had commenced almost six centuries earlier, lasted for another twenty years, and was one of a fourteen-millennia-long series of wars over political control of the Republic between Coruscant, the planet Alsakan, and their respective allies.^[1]
