God’s promises of blessings require an act of obedience on our part. But do we only obey because we want blessings? No! We obey God to show Him that we love Him. Obedience is proof that we truly love God. Jesus said that if we love Him then we will keep His commandments. So if you love God, you will keep His commandments. To say that we love God but refuse to obey Him is not really loving God at all. Because it’s easy to say, “I love you Lord” but our actions prove just quite the opposite.
