Hyssopus officinalis plant covered in flowers. Hyssop is often seen in the herb garden as a compact 2-foot hedge plant which produces showy dark blue flower spikes from July to November. The narrow dark green leaves are slightly bitter and are tasty in small amounts in salads, soups and stews. Medicinally it is used as a gargle for sore throat. Attracts butterflies. Packet is ½ gram, about 400 seeds.
