How to tie a leaf knot in macrame:  A leaf knot is a neat way to finish off the end of a cord.   1. Loop the loose end of the cord to the left, then up and over the top of itself (to the right). Ensure you leave a enough cord to complete the knot. 2. Wrap the loose end of the cord around to the back of the right side and thread it through the middle of the loop, bringing it out towards the front. 3. Then wrap the loose end of the cord around the back to the left side and thread it through the middle of the loop, bringing it out towards the front. 4. Continue this pattern wrapping around the left, then the right, until you reach the desired look. Michelle | Macrame Trainer & Creator on Instagram: "This method is handy to use when attaching long cords or pre-knotted cords to a dowel or piece of driftwood   What do I mean by pre-knotted cords? Cords that have already been somewhat worked on such as the cord with the macrame feather in this reel.   I’d already made the macrame feather in a previous reel so the cord I needed to attach already had a closed loop. If the looped cord is quite long you may still be able to tie a Lark’s head knot the traditional way, but you run the risk of catching the feather during the tying process.  This method keeps the feather out of harms way and saves you from pulling long cords all the way through when tying the knot!  How to tie a Lark’s Head knot (alternative method)  1.
