The textured paintings and assemblages of artist Gregory Euclide (previously) combine organic and man-made materials to present the rapid changes happening to the landscapes around us. In his upcoming solo exhibition Preservation Paradox at Hashimoto Contemporary the Minneapolis-based artist examines the contradictions found in our simultaneous desire to protect some areas of nature while destroying others. French artist Fabienne Rivory creates these unusually beautiful images by working with mirrored photographs and watercolor paints. Rivory has been making artwork that blends paint and photography since 2007, a process she likens to the exploration of memory versus reality. Her most recent series titled Miroir is well worth a look, and prints are available here. More

In the art world, landscape photography is often presented in a, well, landscape format, with a horizon in the distance of the constrained, squared-off
