Villain Overview

You think I'm some lowly errand boy? Stuff your messages. I'm about the screaming! And I will enjoy yours before the day is through! That's why I am Moebius!
~ V

V is a minor antagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. He is a vain and arrogant Consul in search for the Lost Colony.

He was voiced by Yohei Tadano in Japanese and Charles Dale in English.

Appearance[]

V is a humanoid with red eyes wearing red armor. His helmet is tall in size like a top hat and has gray colored pipes where his nose should be and a gray base, resembling a mustache and beard respectively. This is akin to the appearance of old stereotypical villains like Dick Dastardly and Snidely Whiplash.

Biography[]

Little is known about V's origins, although he is the Consul of a colony comprised of autonomous Levnises. Prior to the creation of the Homecoming ceremonies to pass on the soldiers that outlive their ten terms, V would execute soldiers once they outlived their terms so as to prevent their souls from being lost from the reincarnation cycle. One of his executed victims was Ashera, explaining the neck scars carried by her later incarnations from whence V decapitated her. V also fought R sometime in the past and defeated her army.

A thousand years prior to the events of the game, V prepares to kill one soldier for surviving ten terms, ignoring Crys' offer to instead send him off instead. Before he could, however, V is intercepted by the arrival of M. She lies about Z wanting the soldiers who reached ten terms to pass on naturally. V applies and begrudgingly allows Crys to send off the soldier instead.

Much later during Taion's ascension quest, V leads his Ferronis to drill through the caverns of the mountain to reach the Lost Colony, an Agnian colony that have thrived without a Flame Clock that was destroyed by a previous generation of Ouroboros, which is a serious offense to the war. But the Flame Clock was not broken which is how V was able to detect them. Not wanting to have his reborn friend Nimue be killed again and lose memories of her will to see the world, Taion has Riku rebuild the Ferronis in a plan to distract the opposing Ferronis. With the army distracted, the Ouroboros sneak behind the action and confront V.

V is shocked to discover that they were able to outsmart someone like him. Taion offers V mercy if he backed off. V angrily refuses, stating that he will only leave once the cavern was full of screams and transforms into his Moebius form to kill them. The Ouroboros end up defeating him instead, with V beckoning forgiveness from Z as he disappears. V's Ferronis and his Levnises were then all annihilated once the Lost Colony Ferronis self-destructs, allowing the Lost Colony to thrive in peace.
