Villain Overview

I am Warsman, also known as, the Fighting Computer. People tease me as the Cyborg Chojin. True, I am half-robot, half-Chojin and I have computers and machines inside my body... But let me warn you, anyone who dares make a fool of me will end up with my Bear Claws through his chest!
~ Warsman

~ Warsman as he tortures The Manriki.

Warsman is an antagonist turned major character in the anime/manga series Kinnikuman.

He is the secondary antagonist of the 21st Chojin Olympics Arc before being recruited by Kinnikuman into being one of his allies and is the protagonist of his own one-shot manga chapter called Warsman Begins which expands upon his backstory.

In Japanese, during the first few episodes, Warsman would be voiced by Ryoichi Tanaka who also voiced Cancer Death Mask in Saint Seiya and would later voice the Kinnikuman character Prisman.

For the rest of the original anime run of Kinnikuman, Warsman would be voiced by Hideyuki Hori who also voiced Bartholomew Kuma in One Piece and Captain Ginyu in Dragon Ball.

In the Scramble for the Throne season of the anime, Warsman would be voiced by Hirohiko Kakegawa who also voiced Dracule Mihawk in One Piece and other Kinnikuman characters such as Kinnikuman Zebra and Kinkotsuman.

While disguised as Chloe, he would be voiced by Hideyuki Tanaka who also voiced Donquixote Doflamingo in One Piece and Apollomon in Digimon.

In the Kinnikuman Nisei anime, Warsman would be voiced by Eiji Takemoto who also voiced Terence T. D'Arby in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Uvogin in Hunter X Hunter.

In the 4kids dub of Kinnikuman Nisei, Warsman was voiced by Ted Lewis who also voiced Yami Bakura in Yu-Gi-Oh and Giovanni in Pokémon.

In the Perfect Origin Arc, Warsman would be voiced by Yuki Kaji who also voiced Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan and Speed-o'-Sound Sonic in One-Punch Man.

Personality[]

Warsman acts incredibly cruel toward anyone he fights, going as far as to break parts of their body and kill them in order to prove his physical superiority over them. Still, Warsman had some sense of honor, never using underhanded tactics to beat someone down (His Bear Claws were always considered to be fair and legal weapons in the Chojin Olympics) and instead using his natural skills and power to beat them. When Kinnikuman didn't try to use Warsman's Bear Claws against him, Warsman would break his Bear Claws as a sign of respect.

Warsman is incredibly goal-focused, especially when training under the SKGB with Warsman going through hellish training that killed many Chojin and involved fighting and killing animals such as bears and tigers, none of which phased Warsman at all. All Warsman ever thought about was becoming the strongest Chojin.

Despite how Warsman wants to do anything he needs to do, in order to be seen as the strongest Chojin alive, he will constantly do actually heroic things such as aiding children and sparing elderly people, showing that he does have some sense of morality.

Once Warsman became an actual hero, Warsman would refuse to kill anyone, only using his Bear Claws to wound an opponent rather than killing them.

One of Warsman's issues at first is his rage toward those who don't like him or laugh at him, sending him into a berserking rage that can only be stopped by someone he really cares about and looks up to.

Because Warsman was harassed and bullied because of his disfigured robot face, he has an extreme complex about it. Warsman wore a bag over his head for most of his life until he was given his iconic mask. When the mask is removed, Warsman begins to freak out, an intense piece of trauma that would take multiple years for him to heal from.

At his worst, Warsman is a complete sadist who revels in the pain he causes to the people he hates the most, going as far as to break bones and pierce and maul whoever he's fighting.

Apperance[]

Warsman is a tall humanoid (being six feet ten inches tall) humanoid who has a tanned skin tone (grey skin tone in the anime adaptation). Warsman's physical build is very lean and muscular, having a six-pack and very defined muscles across his entire body. Underneath his helmet, Warsman has a full head of unkept messy hair, the hair has never been depicted outside of black and white manga, making its color unknown.

Warsman wears very little clothing, only wearing black shorts, black knee-high boots with knee pads attached, black shoulder pads with elbow pads attached, a pair of claws, a black dome-like helmet and his signature black mask. Warsman's mask is mostly plain and unexpressive, having no features other than two slits for his eyes to see out of. When Warsman is excited to kill someone, his mask will have a wide red smile appear.

Underneath his mask, Warsman's face resembles a chaotic spread of computer parts randomly bending around and connecting to different computer parts. The only thing that resembles any facial features is a circular orb that looks like a left eye. This face is almost identical to his father's face after he became a Robot Chojin.

Relationships[]

Bibimba[]

Bibimba is the first person to see past Warsman's cruel facade, seeing him as the tormented hero he wants to be. As such Warsman wishes to protect Bibimba and will listen to her above anyone else, even going as far as to attack both Robin Mask and Kinnikuman when they slap her.

Robin Mask[]

Being his master, Warsman listens and obeys all of Robin Mask's instructions, even going as far as to murder death row inmates and try to murder a comatose Ramenman.

Once Warsman sees Robin Mask hit Bibimba when she spoke up for Warsman, he would end up punching Robin Mask, ending their student-master relationship so he could fight on his own.

Once Robin Mask switched back to being a hero, Warsman would begin to mend his relationship with Robin Mask, the two sharing mutual respect with each other to the point that they would become each other's tag team partners during the Dream Chojin Tag Team Tournament.

Warsman has openly said that he considers Robin Mask to be his father figure, likely due to his heroic nature. Warsman would do anything to save or help Robin Mask in any way, even going as far as to teach Robin Mask's son, Kevin Mask how to be a better fighter to pay back Robin Mask for teaching Warsman.

Kinnikuman[]

Warsman is one of the few Chojin to never look down on Kinnikuman, seeing him as the genuine powerhouse that he is. Warsman treats Kinnikuman with respect until Kinnikuman intentionally tries to antagonise Warsman and slaps Bibimba for taking his side.

Once Kinnikuman refused to stab Warsman with his own claws, Warsman would break his claws and refuse to use the second pair that Robin Mask was giving to him, wanting to fight Kinnikuman in a fair fight to see which of the two are better.

After their battle, Kinnikuman would accept Warsman onto his side, the two fighting alongside each other and the other Justice Chojin when they fought against the Devil Chojin and Perfect Chojin.

Kommandas[]

Kommandas is Warsman's first friend with the two of them striving to become the strongest Chojin in the world with help from the SKGB. Warsman would often cheer Kommandas up when he was feeling down or if he felt like he wasn't good enough to be a part of the program.

After Warsman tried to run away and Kommandas was fully remodelled into being a robot, Kommandas would be tasked with hunting Warsman down, something he enjoyed doing because it meant he could kill Warsman and prove himself to be stronger than him. Initially, Warsman didn't want to harm his former friend, however, Robin Mask would convince him that this was a life or death situation and that his "friend" was more sinister than Warsman thought. Warsman would use this as motivation to kill his former friend in cold blood.

After his death, Warsman didn't feel any remorse for killing him and would barely think about him after this.

Biography[]

Warsman Begins[]

Warsman is the son of a human mother and the cybernetic Chojin Mikhailman, this caused Warsman to naturally be born as a cyborg himself. When Warsman was a baby, Mikhailman would go berserk due to his cybernetic enhancements and would end up blowing himself up to pay for murdering another Chojin.

Warsman would spend most of his childhood in poverty with his mother who soon became deathly ill Warsman having to work at a young age to afford food for the two of them. The other children would relentlessly harass Warsman because of his robotic face which caused him to wear a bag over his head for most of his life and make him grow a complex about his deformed face. Eventually, when he was young, Warsman's mother would die of her illness.

Ten years later, Warsman would be found by the SKGB who would recruit Warsman into their ranks under the lie that they would make him the strongest Chojin ever just like his father. The SKGB would give Warsman his iconic outfit and his new Chojin name. While in the SKGB, Warsman would undergo hellish training that would kill many of the other Chojin that were training, however, Warsman thrived and refused to ever drop out because of how he received a home and supplies that he barely had before. During this training, he would meet Kommandas who would become his first friend.

One day, Warsman would leave his room to go get some water for his flower and would overhear from an SKGB official that they were training the Chojin to be used as soldiers for war instead of for wrestling. Warsman would break into the room and assault all of the men in there before leaping out of a window when more soldiers showed up to stop him. While running away, Warsman would come face to face with Kommandas who tried to kill him, no wanting Warsman to potentially gain the title of strongest Chojin ever.

Suddenly, Robin Mask, while disguised as Mr. Barracuda, would appear, having spied on Warsman and knowing all of his skills and his personal strife, would tell Warsman that Kommandas was no longer his friend and that he needed to kill him. Warsman used one of his bear claws to punch a hole through Kommandas' chest before ripping his arms off, killing him instantly. Warsman would go to attack Robin Mask, however, when Robin Mask removed his Mr. Barracuda disguise, Warsman would stop trying to attack him and would agree to be trained by him for many months.

Kinnikuman[]

Warsman would make it to the 21st Chojin Olympics as the Chojin representative of Russia. He would make it through the first few rounds without any fan fair until he fought against Teapackman where Warsman would impale his arm through Teapackman's chest and decapitate him before drinking the tea from his head, much to the shock and horror of the crowd around him.

In the second round, Warsman would fight against Pentagon. Warsman would be repeatedly struck by Pentagon due to his quick aerial movement, however, this would stop when Warsman would rip out his wings and would stab him in the face with his claws before slashing down, almost cutting him in half.

In the semi-finals, Warsman would be set to fight against Ramenman in a coffin match. Warsman, having had all of Ramenman's fighting data inserted into his brain, would be able to predict and counter all of his moves. Eventually, Warsman would stab Ramenman's head with his claws and throw his near-dead body into the coffin to win the match and leaving Ramenman in a coma.

In order to train for his match against Kinnikuman, Mr. Barracuda would set it up so a large number of death row inmates would run across a football pitch in order, promising they would be freed if they did so, while Warsman is blindfolded. Warsman would attack them all, killing almost all of them aside from the inmate who only wanted to escape so he could see his grandson.

During the press conference for Kinnikuman and Warsman's fight, Kinnikuman would intentionally antagonise Warsman to bait him into attacking him. Warsman would resist but when Kinnikuman slapped Bibimba for wanting to protect Warsman who she saw good in, Warsman leapt up to attack Kinnikuman, immediately defeating Kinnikuman's special technique he developed to fight against Warsman and being thrown into a fountain where his mask fell off, this gave Mr. Barracuda the idea to make it a mask removal match where the loser would have their mask removed in front of millions.

Before the weighing, Bibimba gave Warsman a special belt to wear for his match. This was a part of Bibimba's plan so Warsman would weigh more than 150 kg which was too much to fight Kinnikuman and he had to choose between removing the belt he just got or his special Bear Claws. He was going to remove his claws, however, when a child stumbled in Warsman went to help him up, the child hit Warsman, aggravating him into removing the belt and equipping his claws before going berserk and attacking everyone around him with only Mr. Barracuda being able to stop him.

Just before Kinnikuman and Warsman's fight, Mr. Barracuda would order Warsman to kill Ramenman, putting him out of his misery which Warsman was about to do before Kinnikuman stopped him. Mr. Barracuda would then unveil his true identity as Robin Mask who had trained Warsman so that he could avenge his loss at the 20th Chojin Olympics.

Warsman and Kinnikuman would fight, Kinnikuman dodging all of his attacks since they were just a copy of Robin Mask's moves so he knew how to dodge them, however, when Warman started to use his own moves, he started to claw at Kinnikuman's mask, tearing out a part of it to reveal his hair.

Kinnikuman would use his Muscle Curtain technique, blocking all of Warsman's attacks, however, Warsman would break through this by striking Kinnikuman's stomach where an old wound was from when he was a child. Warsman then climbs onto Kinnikuman's shoulders and repeatedly elbows his head over and over again. Kinnikuman was ready to give up but when he accidentally slipped, he figured out that Warsman's Fighting Computer couldn't predict something done by pure instinct.

Kinnikuman was ready to slam Warsman's head down on top of his discarded Bear Claw, making him a vegetable like Warsman did to Ramenman but Kinnikuman refused, not wanting to stoop that low. In response, Warsman would run to the corner post of the ring and shatter the claws of his weapon, wanting to fight fair. When Robin Mask asked why he broke his Bear Claws and Bibimba responded that Warsman wishes to fight his own way, Robin Mask would slap her and Warsman would punch him in response, refusing to act as his student any longer.

Warsman continued his fight against Kinnikuman, putting him in his unbreakable Palo Special which almost defeated Kinnikuman, however, Warsman started to overheat from using his Fighting Computer too much, allowing Kinnikuman to use his Kinniku Buster to win the match. Agreeing to the terms of the match, Warsman would remove his mask, revealing his robotic face before collapsing.

After being defeated by Kinnikuman, Warsman would work with him, becoming one of his closest allies who would protect the world from the Devil Chojin and Perfect Chojin.

During the Survivor Match for the Kinniku Throne tournament, after Warsman was resurrected from his death at the hands of Neptune King and Neptuneman, Warsman's brain hadn't been revived and he had to quickly work his way back into being a skilled fighter to win his match against The Manriki.

This would result in Warsman temporarily reverting back to his murderous persona, going as far as to stab The Vice in the head with his Bear Claws, break the vices off of his body and even break both of his legs. Warsman was ready to kill The Vice but Kinnikuman intervened, leaping in front of Warsman's attack to remind him to fight as a Justice Chojin with kindness and mercy and not as a murderous Brutal Chojin. This snapped Warsman back to his senses and back into being a hero.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Chojin physiology: As a Chojin, Warsman has superhuman strength, speed and durability. Other abilities that Chojin have that Warsman likely has is the ability to grow to be as large as a building and the ability to fly without wings or thrusters, even in the vacuum of space.
  • Fighting Computer: Being a cyborg, Warsman's brain is a supercomputer. This computer is able to fully analyse an opponent, scanning their bodies for any weaknesses, even ones that they don't know or remember and determine what their next move will be by analysing their muscle movements. The only downside of the Fighting Computer is that it will overheat after 30 minutes.
  • Bear Claws: Warsman's main weapon is a pair of razor-sharp claws that are attached to both of his gloves. These Bear Claws are so sharp that they could slice and pierce through almost any Chojin in the world.
  • Burning Inner Strength: Warsman was one of the first of the Justice Chojin to tap into the immense power of Burning Inner Strength. Burning Inner Strength is a vast pool of power that can be triggered when a Chojin feels intense amounts of mercy in a fight or has a bond with his opponent, the more the bond and the more mercy they feel toward an opponent, the stronger they will become. Burning Inner Strength makes any Chojin who uses it vastly stronger, more durable and faster, allowing them to beat opponents who would normally be impossible for them to defeat.

Trivia[]

  • From his debut until his fight with Kinnikuman, Warsman didn't speak a single word, the only sound he made was heavy breathing much like Darth Vader.
  • Warsman is tied with Robin Mask for being the hero in Kinnikuman to die the most with him dying three times each in three separate arcs. Warsman has been killed by Buffaloman, Kinnikuman when Planetman used Warsman as a hostage and by Neptuneman and Neptune King's tag team attack. It is also notable that Warsman was almost killed by Mammothman near the end of the series but this resulted in him being hospitalised and surviving.
  • Warsman's birth name Nikolai Volkov is based on the real-life Croatian-American professional wrestler Nikolai Volkoff.
  • Warsman's Fighting Computer being able to overheat was removed from the anime.
  • Warsman makes a cameo in the last two chapters of the Yudetamago manga Scrap Sandayu as the robot cop named Battleman.
  • Warsman, alongside Kinnikuman, Terryman, Buffaloman and Robin Mask, appeared in the one-chapter crossover comic with KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops where he is apprehended by the Tokyo police for walking around with lethal weapons, his Bear Claws, out in the open.
  • Interestingly, in this crossover, Warsman goes back to speaking only in heavy breathing even though at this point in Kinnikuman, Warsman had been speaking for years.
  • Warsman is one of the only Chojin to renounce their citizenship of their home country to live in another one, in Warsman's case he moved from Russia to England.
  • Despite this, Warsman, through extended animated media has shown great pride in various traditional Russian festivities such as playing the balalaika, performing the Cossack dance and eating borscht. Each of which being considered to be Warsman's favorite things.
  • Warsman's mask and usage of claws likely severed as the inspiration for Vega from Street Fighter, a series which has directly referenced Kinnikuman various other times.
