"Around Every Corner" is the fourth episode of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead: Season One. It is the fourth episode of the series overall. It was written by Gary Whitta and directed by Nick Herman.

Summary[]

Through the ruined streets of Georgia's first city, Lee and Kenny lead their battered group in an attempt to find safety on the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. With the losses they've suffered and the people they've gained, can they finally get what they have been looking for since the beginning?

Plot[]

Chapter 1: Georgia's First City[]

Roughly three hours after the end of "Long Road Ahead", Lee, Kenny, Clementine, Ben, Charles, Christa and Omid finally reach the Atlantic city of Savannah. The next day, they start to walk through the town with Lee hanging on to Clementine's walkie-talkie in case the unnamed man tries to contact her again, despite Clementine's pleas for it back. After walking a while, Christa will ask to let Omid rest for a bit. Lee can ask Kenny to wait for a while or can have them all keep pressing on. He can also try to help Omid, or wait to be asked by Clementine. (Determinant) Not much time will pass before the group nears a church and the bell begins to ring. Lee becomes suspicious of the bell ringing at an unusual time and notices a figure running across a roof.

The unknown man speaks through the walkie-talkie warning the group to move out of the street. A large group of walkers will descend on the group. The group try to run, but are forced to fight back, pushing their way through the streets. Kenny is tripped by a walker under a car and drops his gun, leading to Lee or Christa saving him. (Determinant) Kenny comments on the close call, but Lee's attention is drawn to Clementine and Ben being cornered by a group of zombies. Ben freezes in fear and abandons Clementine to save herself, forcing Lee to shoot the walkers around her, but a stray walker reaches Clementine. Just as it goes to attack, it's promptly knocked down by Chuck and his shovel. Clementine catches up with Lee and the others, but Chuck (wanting to ensure Lee saves Clementine) stays to fight off the other walkers on his own accord. He yells to the others to move on without him and that he will meet up with them later.

Chapter 2: Down By The River[]

The group flee in to the backyard of a mansion that has been thoroughly fortified. Omid trips on the way in, and Christa worries when she sees that his wound has opened up again. The back door as well as the pet door are both locked tight. Omid comments that the pet door is probably electronically locked, and responds to the electronic signal that comes from the animal's collar. Lee finds a small grave next to a doghouse and digs it up, revealing a decomposing dog. Clementine will come to watch as Lee digs up the dog, Lee either ordering her away (which hurts her feelings) or Christa politely asks her to let to Lee work. (Determinant)

Lee tries to take the collar off the dead dog, but can't get it until the dog's head suddenly falls off its body. Christa vomits at the sight of its head falling off. Clementine asks if she is alright, and Christa assures her that it was just the smell that made her sick. Omid begins to question the honesty of her statement and that it might be something else, but she quickly rejects his theory.

Now that Lee has the collar for the door, he unlocks it and says he can't see anything from the pet door (or get the main door open). Ben asks if he can give it a try, but before Lee can answer, Clementine quickly rushes in through the pet door and unlocks it from inside much to Lee's worry, anger or praise. (Determinant) Christa hurries the group inside to help Omid and carries him onto a couch inside.

Once they are all inside, Christa starts to berate Lee for not telling them that Clementine's walkie-talkie works and that there is someone on the other end of it. Kenny wonders if the one on the radio is the one that rang the bells and drew the walkers toward them. He quickly debases it saying it makes no sense to lure someone into a trap and warn them about it. Kenny and Ben decide to search the second floor of the house and have Lee search the first floor for any dangers. The house is picked clean, save for two bottles of whiskey and a large bag of dog food.

After checking the place out, Kenny finds an emaciated zombie boy that looks like Duck in the attic. Kenny theorizes that he ran out of food and starved to death. Lee and Kenny decide they can't leave him there.

Have Lee kill the child: Lee tells Kenny he doesn't have to do this, proceeding to kill the boy himself (either by bashing, shooting or stomping the boy to death). The pair look over the dead body, Lee taking the corpse to bury, Kenny looking on in despair.

Convince Kenny to kill the child: Lee presents Kenny with his pistol convincing him the boy needs his help like Duck did or that it isn't his son so he can do this. (Determinant) Kenny slowly walks to the boy, glancing wearily back to Lee, before proceeding to execute the boy with a bullet to the head. The scene now plays out as the other choice. It is noteworthy that this choice strengthens Lee and Kenny's friendship since he helped him.

Leave the room: Lee claims they don't have to kill the walker, making his way out the room. He reaches the bottom, telling a concerned Ben and Christa that it's just a decaying walker. Christa is angered that Lee failed to end the boy's suffering, heading up to shoot the boy herself, carrying the corpse down for Lee to bury. Unlike the others, this choice negatively impacts Lee and Kenny's friendship.

After his death Lee buries him next to his dog and fill up the grave while Clementine watches sadly. Lee suddenly sees that someone is watching him from beyond the fence but they run off before he can get a good look at them. Kenny then wants to find a boat and Lee goes with him while Clementine stays behind with the others. A bell tolls from a different location somewhere in the city distracting the walkers in the area. When they reach the river there are no boats except one that has sunk halfway into the water, which Kenny tries in vain to salvage.

Kenny tells Lee to check out the coastline for anymore working boats using a telescope. Lee looks through it but realizes that he needs a quarter to activate it. He searches around and makes a gruesome discovery, a barrier made up of body parts, and several live walkers impaled on spikes, serving as a warning. Lee also finds strange markings on the boarded up doors. Lee pokes around some more, finding cars that have been stripped clean in the process and eventually finds and bashes open a newspaper dispenser, giving him a single quarter. Looking through the telescope reveals nothing useful, until Lee looks at a building to his left and spots somebody skillfully climbing down it. He tells Kenny to get down and they watch as the figure walks over to a newspaper stand with their back to the men. Kenny hastily comes up with a plan; for Lee to sneak up on the person while he covers the flank. Kenny gets into position and Lee sneaks up to the stranger, but finds them to have disappeared.

If the player decides to have Lee peek over the counter, he discovers the person is no longer there, but instead is behind him. The stranger attacks, and the player is given the opportunity to have Lee counter.

Overpower them: If the player successfully navigates the action sequence, Lee successfully blocks the attacker's strikes and proceeds to beat the other to the ground. Lee ends up on top of the assailant with his pistol pointed at the masked face. Clementine shows up and temporarily distracts Lee, but he keeps his pistol on the stranger. Lee allows the assailant to get up slowly.

Refuse/Fail to strike back: Alternatively (if the player doesn't search behind the counter, or fails to successfully have Lee defend himself during the action sequence) Lee is struck down to the ground. The stranger is about to kill Lee with an ice pick when Clementine suddenly appears and shouts. This causes the stranger to hesitate and then stand down.

The stranger removes their hood and mask, revealing the mystery person to be a woman. She introduces herself as Molly. Kenny sneaks up on her and prepares to shoot her in the back of the head. Molly hears him and ducks, successfully tripping Kenny, the gun discharging on contact with the ground. Lee exclaims that Kenny is with his group, preventing Molly from retaliating on the now-defenseless Kenny. Molly states that the two of them must really not be from Crawford. Lee learns that Crawford is where all the well-bodied people of the area are now holed up. There are very strict rules in Crawford, the group adopting a "survival of the fittest" philosophy, meaning a strict no children, no elderly, nor anyone with any advanced medical condition policy. The conversation is soon interrupted when the undead approach after hearing the gunshot, filling the street that Lee and Kenny had come from, preventing the group's escape.

Contemplating their next move, Lee and Kenny turn to see Molly making her way up a fire escape within a nearby alleyway. She contemplates on leaving them to fend for themselves, but Clementine beckons to Molly, who changes her mind. Kenny and Clementine are pulled up, but Kenny loses his grip on Lee's hand while trying to pull him up, and Lee falls back into the alley with a large group of walkers quickly closing off the alley. With no alternative, Lee continues down a man-hole, and discovers a sewer cover. Molly throws down her pick for Lee to utilize as a tool to pry the cover free. Lee climbs down just as soon as the walkers reach for him.

Chapter 3: Support Group[]

In the sewers below Savannah, Lee uses some misdirection to avoid walkers. Along the way, Lee discovers Chuck's remains with an empty revolver nearby, implying that Chuck had used the last bullet on himself before being devoured. Lee eventually makes his way into a fortified basement area of what seems to be a morgue, which appears to be well-stocked with supplies. Unfortunately, the place is also home to a small group of rather paranoid and hostile survivors, who assume Lee is from Crawford, and therefore dangerous.

An older member of the group, Vernon, interrogates Lee at gunpoint, growing evermore twitchy as the conversation continues, and a younger woman, Brie, urges him to shoot, again claiming that Lee must be from Crawford. The player has to make several dialogue choices that will either help or hurt negotiations for Lee's life. At some point, Lee must make a move to disarm the man, and, depending on Lee's initial approach, the player has to do this slowly or by force. (Determinant)

The group is the last of a cancer support group who fled to the sewers once Crawford's rules began being enforced by Oberson, including the murder of five of the group's members before they could escape. Lee has the option to ask for help getting back to the house where the other members of Lee's group are held up.

Chapter 4: Bedside Manor[]

On return to the mansion, Lee finds Molly sifting through the mansion for supplies. He returns her climbing pick and allows her to remain in the mansion. Vernon informs the group that he is a doctor and sets to work on Omid's injured leg. Lee conducts a search for missing Clementine, growing more concerned by the moment, especially after finding an intoxicated Kenny that has no idea where she is.

Chapter 5: Georgia's Last City[]

Lee goes back into the backyard to look for her. Just as he begins to go back inside, he hears a knock from the backyard shed. He opens the doors and finds Clementine inside. She is overjoyed to see him alive, and embraces him, then reveals what she found inside of the shed: a boat. Kenny comes out, sees the boat, and regains his confidence.

Hours later, while Kenny and Ben inspect the boat, Vernon finishes his work with Omid and reports to the mansion's sitting room. Annoyed, Molly asks Lee to stop pacing. Christa demands to know why she is still there. Molly explains that she feels owed for saving Lee's life and that she plans to get on the boat with them. Kenny returns and says that he has bad news; the boat was missing a battery and gas, but is in otherwise good condition. The group discusses Crawford as the only place that could possibly have what they need, but Vernon staunchly rejects the plan to ask them for help, instead proposing that they use the sewers as a way to get into the community silently and steal what they need. He volunteers to lead them through the sewers so long as they steal medicine as well. The group agrees to sneak in under the cover of night. Vernon departs to rejoin his people and share with them the plan.

Lee finds Clementine listening in on the group's plan to sneak into Crawford. She asks if he thinks it will be dangerous, to which Lee says that it would be. (Determinant) Clementine says that she does not want anyone else to die, but accepts Lee's assurance that nobody would die. (Determinant) She says that she needs to get ready, explaining that she wants to go with Lee in case her parents were in Crawford. Lee can try to dismiss the possibility that her parents are there, but she still wants to go with him to see for herself.

Take Clementine to Crawford: Lee tells her that she could come with them, but only if she promises to stay quiet and do exactly as told. Clementine eagerly agrees and goes to arrange her belongings. Lee watches her leave with a regretful expression on his face.

Leave Clementine Behind: Lee sadly apologizes, but tells Clementine that she cannot go with him. Dejected, she walks away from him.

Remain Silent: Lee is unable to tell her that she cannot come, but she infers that he wanted to tell her such. Dejected, she walks away from him.

The group gathers in the backyard, assembling their weapons and awaiting Vernon's return. Kenny announces that he found some tools in the shed, offering them to the others. He then quietly pulls Lee aside, informing him that the boat was only thirty feet long and not big enough for all seven of them (including Molly). Before Kenny could offer anything further, Vernon enters the backyard through the gate, escorting Brie. Kenny demands to know who she is, and she explains that she was once a student in the school where Crawford kept its supplies and that she knows the layout. The group offers no objection to her joining them, and follows Vernon out of the gate. Lee tells them to wait a moment, giving Clementine some final words before he leaves. If Lee had refused her company before, he warns her about Omid and tells her not to let anything inside the mansion. He can either leave her with a pistol to defend herself or tell her to hide if there is any danger, but both result in her accepting her job in staying with Omid. Alternatively, if Lee had allowed her to join the invasion of Crawford, he asks her if she remembers what to do. Vernon is outraged that Lee had decided to bring Clementine with them, but Lee denies any attempts to get him to change his mind. Molly offers her disagreement, but Lee closes the discussion on the matter. Kenny resignedly allows Lee to take her and urges the group to get going.

Upon arriving in Crawford, the group quickly realizes that the whole place is infested by walkers and retreat to the elementary school where supplies are kept.

Chapter 6: For Whom The Bell Tolls[]

Depending on the player's dialogue choices, Ben and/or Clementine will feel worried, safe or unsure about their security. (Determinant)

The group finds the "control room", and a door labeled "Armory". Ben sets to work on the Armory door, Kenny and Brie go to get gas, Christa and Vernon go to the nurse's station to collect medication, leaving Lee and Molly to go find a battery for the boat. If Clementine was brought, Lee's leaves her in charge of their "command center". She initially thinks she is just being left with Ben, but Lee assures her that he is actually leaving Ben with her, pleasing Clementine. (Determinant) Molly rushes off ahead, leaving Lee to make his own way. He soon arrives but as he tries to enter the jammed door to the auto shop area, a walker falls from the roof, followed by a furious Molly who hacks at the walker in what seems to be a personal level of rage. She dismisses any evidence of knowing the dead man.

After finding a battery from a car in a workshop, a nail biting zombie encounter, and a roof-to-roof jump, Lee makes his way back to the main area of the school. Molly takes off to "run an errand", taking the battery with her so Lee and the rest of the group will not get on the boat without her. Lee then continues down the hall back towards the classroom to check up on Ben (and Clementine if Lee chose to take her), only to be interrupted as he passes the front door, where Kenny and Brie will rush in, racing to escape the group of walkers that were following them. Fortunately, Lee manages to insert the hatchet the group found in a toolbox back at the house into the door handles, preventing the walkers from busting in.

After helping Kenny and Brie, Lee goes to the nurse's office to check on Christa and Vernon, only to find a group of walkers banging on the door. After shooting all of them, Lee makes his way inside to find Christa and Vernon ready to fire. The two lower their guns once they realize it's only Lee, and the three begin to search for a way to open the safe where the medical supplies were being kept. A bit of investigating leads to Lee finding a tape and a camcorder in the room, containing footage of a pregnant woman named Anna Correa and Dr. Logan discussing what to do about the former's pregnancy, as per Crawford's policy on no hindrances. Lee instantly recognizes the Doctor as the same walker that Molly savagely attacked, and heads out to the alley to find him, to see if he has the code for the medicine cabinet. After stomping his head in, he finds a second tape and a combination to his locker. Optionally, Lee can open up the locker and find a third tape containing an explanation as to why Molly attacked the doctor so savagely: In the video, she was having sex with Dr. Logan in return for insulin for her sister's diabetes, but the doctor completed the deal with a box of insulin, he said that the deal would be the last, and refused any future deals due to Oberson started checking inventory and grew suspicious.

Arriving back inside the nurse's office, the tape found on Logan is played, showing the events the day after, as well as explaining why Crawford fell. Christa begins to cry after witnessing the tape, and refuses to explain further. Vernon manages to unlock the safe with the combination from the tape, and heads back to the classroom with Christa. Walking through the hallway, Lee is surprised by Molly's jump through a hole in the ceiling. She had gone off to fetch a picture of her sister, whom had been killed by the Crawford residents when Logan stopped her supply of insulin and her symptoms started to surface. Then when walking to the classroom, Ben scares Lee and Molly with a hatchet. When Lee and Molly figure out that it was the hatchet holding the door from walkers, walkers enter inside and Molly kills some of them. Suddenly, one grabs hold of her and enters a struggle, at which Lee will have to shoot the walker. (If the player brings Clementine with them and fails to shoot the walker in time, she will shoot the walker and save Molly). However, shooting Molly by accident, or not shooting at all causes Molly to flee the walkers in the opposite direction, (losing her weapon) leaving her ultimate fate unknown.

Upon getting inside the classroom, Brie holds the door shut and stands by it to make sure no walkers get in while Kenny is just about finished opening the armory door by force. A now-regretful Ben finally decides to come clean about his dealings with the bandits to Kenny, much to Lee's support/disagreement. (Determinant) Kenny, upon hearing what Ben says after bashing the door open, becomes furious and attacks Ben, only to be held back by Vernon and Lee. A short argument ensues, and eventually everyone begins to vote Ben out. (If Clementine comes along, she protests everyone's decisions, claiming Ben is her friend and that friends don't leave each other behind, Christa abstaining upon hearing such.) After this, Lee can either vote for Ben to stay, leave or abstain. (Determinant) Brie will question whether she and Vernon get a vote or not, only to be interrupted as three walkers break through the door, and bites her to death through disembowelment. As Vernon watches in horror, Lee orders everyone to run into the bell tower, dragging Vernon with them.

With the armory door being unable to shut due to Kenny's force beforehand, the group runs down the stairs, only to find the room to be infested with walkers, now attentive on them. Kenny hands Lee a shotgun that was in the hands of a fallen guard as the group begins to head up the stairs, and, after shooting and fighting his way up the stairs, the group makes it to the top of the tower. As the group begins to pile out the window, Vernon notices the train, and asks where the group came to Savannah from. Upon everyone (except Ben and Lee) vacating, the bell rings, to which Ben covers his ears. A walker that had been hanging from the bell eventually grabs hold of Ben, at which point Lee can shoot it off of him.

Shoot Crawford: Lee manages to save Ben from certain death, but the tenanted falls on to the ledge, losing his grip just as Lee catches him. Lee asserts he will save him but Ben urges Lee to let him go, as a way to punish himself for his screw-ups. If Lee left Kenny to deal with the walker alone earlier, he was say he will Lee when he's done.

Pull Ben up: Despite Ben's pleas, Lee forces him up, the two making it out alive. Ben will be confused as to why Lee saved him, but grateful all the same.
Drop Ben: Lee lets go, Ben falling to the bottom, his legs breaking in the process. Lee leaves the tower, Ben screaming in pain as the Walkers devour him, his worst fear realized.

Don't shoot Crawford: The top suspending the walker gives way, the creature taking Ben to the bottom as they fall. The scene plays put it would if Lee dropped Ben.

Chapter 7: The Morning After[]

When the group finally arrives at home, they find a motionless Omid. Christa begins to cry over him, until he awakens and groggily greets the group. If Clementine was let at home, the group will either find a dead walker if she shot it or a live one locked in the closet if Clementine had no weapon. If Lee let Ben die, Clementine will be angry and sad at Lee's action. He is given medicine by Vernon, who then takes Lee out into the hallway to talk with him in private. He will either comment on Lee being a good man or scold him on his decisions based on how the player handles the first encounter with him earlier in the episode, and also on Lee allowing Ben to fall to his death if the player chose to do so, or leaving Molly behind. It is at that point that Vernon offers to take Clementine with him back to the Crawford Sewer group, to which Lee can respond by physically threatening him, agree with Vernon, or not answer at all. Vernon takes his leave, politely or angrily depending on Lee's action.

Lee then has a short conversation with Molly (if the player successfully shot the walker or brought Clementine) where they say their goodbyes to each other, Molly believing she's better off on her own. Lee then goes into the study, where Clementine watches Kenny through the window as he works on the boat. It is then that she begins to ask Lee if they'll have time to look for her parents before they leave on the boat. The player can either lie to her or tell her the truth, but either way she will begin to cry herself to sleep, where Lee will place the walkie-talkie on the arm of the couch and sit down. He soon falls asleep. Lee wakes up to find Clementine is nowhere to be found.

Chapter 8: Penultimate[]

He goes out into the back yard to find her abandoned hat. Seeing the walkie-talkie abandoned next to a garbage can outside the yard, he investigates only to be attacked by a walker that was hiding underneath a board. He kills it but realizes he was bitten (his blood having splattered on Clementine's hat) at which point the group, consisting of Christa, Omid, Kenny, and Ben (Determinant), will come out and question what Lee is doing outside, along with whose blood is all over him. The player can choose to reveal the bite or conceal it.

Reveal bite: Lee shows everyone, the group shocked and despaired by such, though he asserts Clementine is more important right now. This action guarantees Omid and Christa's help in finding Clementine should Lee ask.

Hide bite: Lee hides the bite by rolling his sleeve down, brushing off the blood on his shirt being the walker's he just killed. Omid and Christa will now only come if Lee/Clementine helped them earlier.

The next segment is the climax and culmination of the player's choices, revealing the extent each of Lee's action had on each character.

They will begin to ask Clementine's whereabouts, to which Lee responds that she has been kidnapped, mentioning Vernon's offer. They all believe Vernon is the culprit. The player can choose to go alone on the search for her or ask for help. Christa and Omid will offer to help if the player reveals Lee's bite to the group, however they will help regardless if Clementine is left in the house during the Crawford raid, which Clementine saved Omid from an intruding walker and the couple would desire to return her favor (however it is possible for them to still not come even if Clementine stayed with Omid). Kenny will help if the player sides with him in most arguments throughout the game and sticks with him through major decisions. Ben (if saved) will give Lee the choice for him coming, but will tag along of his own volition if the player had shown him support throughout the past two episodes. Alternatively, if the player mentions that Clementine had always been friendly to him, Ben will come to help. However, this can cause backlash for Kenny coming, (only if Lee convinced him to come, rather than let Kenny decide) claiming Lee must choose only one of them. If Lee is polite about Ben coming, then Kenny comes, but will stay regardless if Lee is aggressive with his viewpoint. Lee is also given a second chance to refuse Ben's company as well, which Kenny wholly supports.

Lee (and company, based on the player's decisions) then head to the sewer hideout, only to find it completely abandoned. Lee calls out to no avail, and begins to stress himself. Suddenly, a horde of walkers, presumably the same horde from the end of the previous episode, is seen shuffling in the streets. Then the walkie-talkie comes on and Clementine's voice is heard calling Lee. However, it quickly turns to the unnamed man's voice, saying he has Clementine that she is "fine", and confirms that he isn't Vernon, but warns that Lee should choose his next words wisely.

Although the game allows the player to make a choice on what to say, the game cuts it off with "To be continued".

Deaths[]

Impacts[]

This list shows the narrative consequences effected by choices from previous episodes of Season 1.

  • Lee will have a scratch on his face if he chooses to fight and got punched by Kenny when trying to convince him to stop the train in the previous episode.
  • Clementine will wear the hoodie for the rest of the season, if you stole the food from the wagon in the second episode. If you didn't, she will wear her regular clothes as always.
  • Depending what Lee told Clementine on the train in the previous episode, he will mention that they have to find a boat, they have to wait in finding Clementine's parents or to go on their own way.
  • Before choosing to kill Fivel, Kenny will either mention that he couldn't kill Duck before if Lee shot him or left him to reanimate in the previous episode, or he can't do it again if Kenny shot his son.
  • If Lee manages to beat Molly down, when Clementine appears and gets Lee's attention, she will either be in shock or neutral depending on Lee's past choices.
    • The choices in particular that affect the response seem to be whether you killed the St John brothers (one or both) and/or Larry in the meat locker, killing them earning the neutral response while sparing them earns the shocked response.
  • Kenny will drunkenly mention that he wants to fight Lee again like on the train if Lee chose that, or that this is his first time drinking (not correct, since he drank with Chuck, though he could have meant his first time getting drunk) if Lee talks him down in "Long Road Ahead".
    • If Lee won the fight, Kenny will additionally say that he fights better when drunk.
  • If Lee told Clementine that she wouldn't end up like Duck in the last episode and tells her that no one else is gonna die, she will recall a similar promise he told her after Duck died and can't really make that promise.
  • Depending on your relationships with Kenny, Christa, Omid and Ben (if you saved him), they will choose to either help you rescue Clementine or remain with the boat, a positive relationship earning the former, a negative earning the latter.

Only making one of these choices and acting confrontational toward Christa in the previous episode can make them decide to remain behind.
      • If Lee reveals his bite, they will go with Lee no matter what he had done previously, even if he had requested that they let him go look for Clementine alone.
    • Kenny will go if Lee sided with him on enough major decisions throughout the season, or he can be convinced to come along as long as Lee did not side against him on enough major decisions (a purported list of major decisions and their impacts can be seen here); it does not matter whether Lee shows him the bite or not. Interestingly, showing the bite and going with just Kenny are, respectively, the two most popular out of the possible options.
    • Ben can be convinced to help go after Clementine if he is still alive. Lee revealing his bite does not affect Ben in any significant way.

Goofs/Errors[]

  • At the beginning where walkers first appear and the group starts running, Omid is not limping, as if his leg has suddenly turned better. He limps when escaping toward King Street after Chuck gets separated from the group.
  • When Lee puts a videotape in the camcorder, the tape is facing the wrong way.
  • It is unknown where Kenny found the rifle he brought to Crawford. However, after he and the group got inside the school, he lost it.
  • Sometimes, if Lee tells the walker that grabbed his foot in the sewer to let go twice, tries shooting it, then uses Hilda on it, then shoots the one approaching him, he does not put his gun away and the flare from the shot remains visible and frozen, causing the gun to act like a torch.
  • When Lee and the group sneak out through the sewer to Crawford, Molly's pick can be seen on right, as if she had two picks and left one there.
  • If Molly does not return to the classroom, the lines "Nice group you got here" and "Not the time, Molly", are omitted. Yet the screen used when she is supposed to say her line is still shown, though she is absent and nothing is said.
  • When walking up the steps of the bell tower, Lee must dispatch five walkers. Upon meeting the fourth, the game prompts Lee to kill it with the shotgun, even though he uses the hatchet instead.
  • If Lee chose to be honest with Vernon when at gunpoint and then lies about having medicine, Brie will still not trust Lee, whom will respond with "I did what I had to to get him to come with me," as if he threatened Vernon in order to come with him, though this may be because Vernon had told his group that Lee had lied about the medicine and she resents Lee for that.
  • While looting Doctor Logan's corpse, Lee remarks about the combination he found on the paper, saying that "Vernon said the safe combination was only four numbers." He says this as if the paper held more than four numbers.
  • After searching Dr. Logan in the alley, Lee goes back into the school the same way he came even though there is no route to get back there. Lee even enters the building the same way he exited from, even though school emergency doors are specifically designed to not let people in from the outside.
  • After unlocking the medicine cabinet in the nurse's office, Lee encounters Molly on his way back to the classroom. He has the option of interacting with the bullet casings on the ground on his way. If he does, he winds up interacting with them at the same time as he reacts to Molly’s sudden arrival, pulling the camera out of focus and leading to his dialogue overlapping.
  • Clementine will claim Lee called her a big help even if he did not.
  • The shotgun obtained from the corpse at the bottom of the stairs in the bell tower has the same character model as the dead Train Engineer from "Long Road Ahead."
  • In the shot where Christa shoots two walkers in the bell tower, Ben is not holding the gasoline tanks.
    • At the top of the bell tower, the tanks are nowhere to be found.
    • If Clementine was brought to Crawford, once the group returns to the mansion, the tanks are not seen anywhere.
  • Vernon and Brie's subtitle text colors are yellow and light blue respectively. However, when Lee asks if the members of Vernon's group are sick, Vernon replies by saying, "We're sick. We're all members of a cancer survivors group that used to meet here at the hospital". During his reply, his subtitle text color changes from yellow to light blue, Brie's subtitle text color.
  • If Clementine is brought to Crawford, regardless of whether or not Lee stole from the station wagon in the second episode, Clementine will wear only her skirt when climbing out of the sewers.
  • At the end of the episode, the radio is in Lee's inventory even though Lee has to pick it up outside the fence.
  • In the Crawford bell tower, Lee does not pump his shotgun after killing the last walker. However, if he chooses to shoot Oberson, he seemingly has another shot, which he realistically wouldn't because he did not load another by pumping the gun.
  • Anna Correa's right hand goes through her leg several times throughout the first recording.
  • After shooting Molly or not shooting a walker during the first person sequence, when Molly is surrounded and Lee fires the pistol at the walkers, the closest walker to the camera angle, when shot, its corpse will lie down and then go through the floor of the building.
  • After taking out the car battery, Molly moves around freely while carrying it in her backpack. In real life however, a car battery weighs around 40-50 lbs. (14-23kg), making it impossible to carry it around in a backpack or run with it.
  • After saving or leaving Molly when the others are running into the classroom, Christa can be seen running in even though she wasn't outside of class.
  • If Lee fails to beat down Molly during their fight, when Molly throws away his weapon, it'll appear as the spike remover even if Lee chose the spanner or monkey wrench from the previous episode.
    • Also, if Lee chooses to smash the telescope, he will appear to use the monkey wrench, regardless of what he took in the previous episode.
  • While searching for a quarter to use for the telescope, several walkers can be seen standing around the way Lee had come in front of the giant building with the word "infected" draped over the top of it. This may have been intentional, as Kenny's gunshot would need to have them close enough for them to hear, but the fact that they are standing still casts some doubt.
  • When Molly pulls Kenny up onto the fire escape, his hat goes through the floor.
  • Humorously, Lee is able to pull off the grate to the manhole in the alley, but if the player does not entirely fulfill the action sequence, Lee does not enter the open sewers, resulting in him getting eaten by the walkers.
  • When Lee searches the downstairs section of the mansion for walkers, when he draws his gun in preparation for opening the door, his shirt sticks up as if the gun is still there.
    • Sometimes, a second gun will be there while Lee holds another one in his right hand.
    • Also, when he opens the door to the left of the fireplace, when his shirt sticks up, you can see that there is nothing beneath it: no skin, no white shirt.
  • When Lee searches the set of double doors and a broomstick nearly falls on top of him for it, Omid appears to be sleeping when Clementine calls out for him. If this was not the last door he searched, Omid is awake when Lee walks past him.
  • After Molly leaves the group at the mansion (if Lee told her to come with them on the boat), Lee walks into the study on Clementine without the walkie-talkie attached to his waist.
  • If Lee asks Omid is he is feeling better while on the couch, his head phases through the couch.
  • After Lee searches Doctor Logan's corpse, he has the option of opening up his locker. If he does that, Lee does not enter the locker combination to open it.
  • Vernon does not enter the same code Logan did when opening the safe.
    • Logan entered 4-0-3-7. Vernon entered 0-6-5-2.
      • It is interesting to note that the numbers Vernon entered are the birth years for Dave Fennoy, born in 1952, and his daughter, Michelle Fennoy, born in 2006.
  • When Lee wakes up, he still has Clementine's walkie-talkie on his belt despite removing it the night before. When he goes outside, it is no longer on him.

Deleted Sequences[]

  • Ben had the option of killing Fivel via gunshot, and an unfinished animation where he stomps on the boy.[1]
    • He also had an unused wish to die. He asks Lee to drop him because he and Kenny wants to, because he too believes that he is, quoting this line, "A fuck up for everyone." There is unused audio where he thanks Lee for dropping him, before getting devoured by walkers.
  • Anna Correa and Doctor Logan had a slightly bigger role via tapes. Doctor Logan tried to get Anna Correa out of Crawford, but was killed in the process, possibly by Oberson. This was scrapped when Molly was implemented.
  • There were sequences where Lee would lead Vernon to the mansion, and the group to Crawford via the sewers. This was most likely scrapped due to time constraints.
  • The player apparently could have been given the choice to send each member of the group to retrieve specific supplies in Crawford, with Ben and Clementine being exempted and remaining in the classroom.
  • If Lee had dropped Ben, Kenny would immediately appear and ask Lee where Ben is, Lee could tell him what became of Ben or could even overall hide his death from the group by having Lee say anything besides "I did what I had to.", this would slightly affect Lee's relationship with Kenny depending on whether he sided with Ben or not earlier.[2]
    • If Lee hid Ben's death from the group, dialogue at the house would differ.[3]
