Marty's Group is a group of survivors introduced in Season 8 of AMC's Fear the Walking Dead. They served as the primary antagonistic group of the episode "Sanctuary".
Overview[]
Marty's group are bandits who rob and kill other survivors for their supplies, completely wiping out Jay's group for no other reason than to claim their supplies. However, they may not be entirely unreasonable as Marty first tried to negotiate with Dwight instead of immediately opening fire and offered the use of the group's medical supplies to save Odessa Sanderson after they shot her if Dwight would surrender himself to them, although this may have just been a ploy to get Dwight without a fight.
Although they have no known connections to the Saviors, the group shares some similarities with them. First, they use the Sanctuary, the former fortress of the Saviors, as their base of operations. Secondly, they employed fence walkers to protect the outside of the Sanctuary, a tactic that Negan had used as well. In addition, the bandits covered the walkers heads in metal to make them harder to attack, something that Negan had used on the suggestion of Eugene Porter before those walkers were destroyed at the start of the Siege of the Sanctuary.
