Embracer Group is not stopping and continues to lay off employees and cancel projects. As reported by Jason Schreier -- one of the most trusted sources in the industry -- this time, it was supposed to be a game from the esteemed Deus Ex series, by Eidos Montreal.

The journalist refers to anonymous insiders, also talking about layoffs within the team and plans to start production of a new game. The reductions have already been confirmed by Eidos Montreal on social media. A total of 97 people from the development team, administration and support department left their jobs.

The new Deus Ex was supposed to enter production proper this year -- so far only conceptual work has been carried out. Let's note that the creators haven't officially announced this game yet.

The case can be really surprising, shocking even. The Deus Ex series has many fans around the world, as confirmed by the number of copies of individual installments sold. So far, all parts of the series have sold over 14 million copies.

The last one so far, Deus ExMankind Divided, was released in 2016. The game received two story expansions: Criminal Past and Hole in the System.
