The developers of No Man's Sky surprised us again and without any announcements, they released a new update for their game. It's time for a new update called Aquarius after the previous patch, Worlds, which, by the way, resulted in the highest number of players enjoying the game in five years. The latest patch introduces mechanics that players have been waiting for a very long time. Below you can watch its official trailer.

Grab the fishing rod and catch a few fish

Surprisingly, the fishing system has been missing from the games developed by Hello Games studio, considering how commonly it is implemented in many other titles. This era has ended though, as today's patch will finally allow us to go fishing in No Man's Sky. Considering the refreshment of the worlds that took place in the previous patch, the devs couldn't have chosen a better moment to introduce this new feature.

The history of our fishing will be recorded in a special journal. Some species of fish are very diverse, and finding all of them would require us to visit many distant planets. In fishing, a configurable fishing platform called Exo-Skiff will help us, which effortlessly floats above the water. Automated traps have also been included to gather fish for us as we explore different locations.

Furthermore, the update Aquarius also introduces:

  1. new culinary recipes;
  2. option to make baits;
  3. deep diving suit;
  4. collection of posters;
  5. message in a bottle;
  6. Aquarius jetpack.

Moreover, a new expedition begins today, which will last about six weeks and is of course associated with new mechanics. Players who complete it can count on exceptional rewards.

You can find the full list of changes in the studio's official post.
