QLOC Works on Removing the 30 FPS Cap in Mortal Kombat 11 PC

Players are not very fond of the PC version of Mortal Kombat 11. They complain about the lack of support for 21:9 monitors and the 30 FPS limit in many sequences. Previously, a mod was created to deal with these inconveniences, and now the developers have announced that they are officially working to remove them.

The creators of Mortal Kombat 11 have announced an update that removes the FPS limit in the PC version of the game. However, they do not address the issue of ultrawide screen monitor support.

On behalf of QLOC, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the game's publisher, informed about the works on the official patch for the PC version of Mortal Kombat 11 on Reddit. The update is to lift the 30 FPS cap, which was noticeable in the execution of fatalities. This restriction was a sensible solution for consoles that could have problems with smooth displaying of dynamic camera shots and advanced graphics effects. In the PC version, however, this solution is not necessary. In their entry, the creators did not refer to the issue of support for 21:9 monitors, which are also requested by PC gamers.

Information about the planned FPS unlock appeared when the last PC patch was made available. In the patch, developers added support for Ansel photo mode (for Nvidia's graphics card owners), introduced a benchmark before an online duel in Time Towers, streamlined team battles, and fixed a series of bugs. The full list of changes can be found here.

It should be noted that the upcoming update is not the only way to improve the smoothness of the game in Mortal Kombat 11. At the end of April we wrote about a mod created by one of the players, which removes the FPC cap, and also adds support for ultrawide resolutions.

As far as this official patch is concerned, more details about it will be revealed "soon". Nevertheless, the fact that it was created is good news for the players.
