The Witcher has a reason to celebrate.

At today’s investor call CD Projekt RED revealed some interesting sale numbers for The Witcher franchise. Starting from 2007’s The Witcher, through 2011’s The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and finally to the last year’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the three core installments of the series (excluding the Hearts of Stone expansion or spin-offs) managed to sell 20 million copies worldwide. It was most probably the third game that largely contributed to this success, even though the time it was available on the market was the shortest among the three titles. Unfortunately, the studio refused to say how the individual titles contributed to this success and how many copies The Witcher 3 sold last year.

The Witcher 3 earned 800 game awards, 250 of which are Game of The Year titles. Adam Kicinski, CEO at CD Projekt company, also mentioned another record The Witcher 3 managed to break. Over 51 thousand articles about the game appeared in online media, which is a record number when it comes to video games.
