A few days ago, Valve officially announced Deadlock, its upcoming MOBA. Of course, many players have already known about the existence of this title, as it was tested for some time by thousands of people. However, right now we are overflown by information and different streams of the game. For now, you need an invitation to join and it is free. However, will it stay free to play after 1.0 release? Let’s find out.

Will Deadlock Be Free to Play (F2P)

We don’t know when Deadlock will be released. The only certain thing is that it will be available on Steam and console versions are quite unlikely, taking into account Valve’s history. However, many people already think about future. One of the most popular questions is about distribution fee. Will the title be free to play?

To be honest, it is unlikely that it will not. We strongly believe that it will be. Let’s look at facts. At this point Valve supports 3 popular multiplayer games Counter Strike, Dota and Team Fortress. All of them are free to play. Taking into consideration how long they are on the market, we may assume that they are profitable and this business model works for Gaben Newell’s company quite well. It is highly unlikely that they will change it now. Of course, we are not 100% sure, as developers do not share information about this yet and it does not have the Free to Play tag on Steam. It is also possible that there will be some form of a paid version alongside the free one, like in the case of CS2.

Taking into consideration that the game is now officially announced, we assume that more and more news will be shared by the company over the next few months. Meanwhile, we have to be patient.
