Does this book get any better? I read The Guest List and couldn't put it down so I was eager for this one to come out. Over a hundred pages into it, I have to force myself to pick it up.

I have a feeling it might have also changed colour from grey/white to black/white but could not be bothered to check up! Hate anything horrible happening to animals in books - it haunts me and also such a lazy trope for "ooh danger afoot you are next". There are so many more clever and interesting ways to build tension than animal cruelty which always spoils a book/film for me.(less)

*NO SPOILERS PLEASE* Does anyone have a clear understanding of the layout of this apartment building? I know who lives where. But are the door and elevator/stairs, in the center or at the one of the ends? Either way, the description of the lay out inside each apartment doesn't make sense if there is only one per floor given the U shape. I can't picture the inside layout.
