"You may compliment my cock, you may beg, and you may politely ask for more. I don't want to hear anything else and if I do, I'll stuff your mouth with your panties so you can't speak."
↳ so this book is about the Calloway sisters + Lo, Ryke and Connor being in a reality show to revive their image after Lily's sex addiction was leaked. just like other books from the Addicted series, this is mostly character-based rather than plot-driven. there's some drama with Daisy and her boyfriend Julian, this Scott dude (producer of the show), etc.
↳ "You're not a pit stop. You're my finish line. There's no one after you. I want you for eternity not for a brief moment in time."
↳ "It's time for you to shut the fuck up and put my cock back in your mouth."
"She was a genius on paper. But not a team player. She was quick to loathe others. But not against loving. She was a complicated equation that didn't need to be solved"
Virgin. Sex addict. Daredevil. Alcoholic. Smartass … Jackass. Her five friends are about to be filmed. Reality TV, be prepared.
I had no one before Rose. No true friends. No family, not really.
Now I have her. I have people I care about. People that I want to protect.
Now I have everything.
The only thing about having everything is that you can lose it all.
This book was 300 pages too long.
Ivy league educated characters who all need some native intelligence. Rose and Connor supposedly are tough when, in reality, they're simply TSTL. With the sum total of the characters' net worth, they could have bought their own production company which begs the question of why they allowed- creepy- Scott to have any sort of leverage over them.
Je suis desole, ce livre est ridicule.
“Kiss the sky with me,” Connor whispers, a beautiful smile pulling his lips, “and don’t ever come down.”
“All I’ve ever wanted to do was be on your team, Rose.” I laugh as I remember. “You, Miss Highest Honors, were the one who chose to be my rival by attending Princeton.”
She tilts her head. “I like competing against you.” She sits up on her elbows, her lips so close to mine as she says, “But I like being your teammate more.”
“Me too, darling.”
Me too.
“You’re not a pit stop. You’re my finish line. There’s no one after you.”
“I’ve wanted so many things in life,” he says softly, “but you’re the one that has meant the most to me.” Translation: I love you.”
“I am so deeply in love with you, Rose.”
“We’ve become something of a family. A dysfunctional, fucked up family. It’s hard to let that go.”
"You're not a pit stop. You're my finish line. There's no one after you… I want you for eternity, not for a brief moment in time."
"6 people + 6 months + 3 cameramen + 1 reality show = infinite drama. I've done the math."
"Rose Calloway was different. She was fashionable. But not a sorority girl. She was a genius on paper. But not a team player. She was quick to loathe others. But not against loving them. She was a complicated equation that didn't need to be solved."
"He wears confidence like his most expensive suit, with style and dignity and so much charm. I immediately want to combat him, to match him smile for smile, grin for grin, word for word."
"I'm not the hero.
I'm the king to Rose's queen."
"You're safe with me, you know that, Rose?… I won't ever hurt you."
"I think we both know there's only one dominant here."
"My power is in my confidence.
It's that simple.
Their belief that it's something more - that it's something greater - is what makes the effect so strong. They need me to be their sturdy unbending fortress.
So I am here."
"As she rests on my lap, something strong grips my heart. I've never been so possessed by another person before. She consumes my body and mind in ways that I can't articulate."
"These five people mean more to me than words can express. I've never once felt like I had a real family.
But with them - I know I do."
"We'd be the walls that shield these terrible events from them. We can endure the pain for however long they need to heal."
“Kiss the sky with me,” Connor whispers, a beautiful smile pulling his lips, “and don’t ever come down.”
He’s the river that idly passes between mountains. I’m the volcano that destroys a village.
“You’re not a pit stop. You’re my finish line. There’s no one after you.”
“But Rose is the epicenter of my world, whether I allow myself to love her or not.”
Daredevil. Jackass. Sex addict. Alcoholic. Smartass.Heartthrob.Virgin.
6 people + 6 months + 3 cameramen + 1 reality show = infinite drama.
“I like competing against you.” She sits up on her elbows, her lips so close to mine as she says, “But I like being your teammate more.”
“Me too, darling.”
Me too.
“Why am I with you? You’re so conceited, arrogant—”
“Narcissistic,” I add, “attractive, lovable, brilliant.”
“That wasn’t an invitation for you to compliment yourself.”
“No? My bad, I thought we were listing my best qualities.” Her eyes fall again. “Yes, my cock is most definitely one of them.”
“Human,” I finish for her. I tuck her hair behind her ear. “You’re human, Rose. We all are.”
I have a family. A real family. It’s not something you can win. I didn’t manipulate a soul to get here. I have it because they like me for me. Each day, I’m more thankful for them. And I’m more aware of how much I can lose.
“ you are human. you love who you love. you fuck who you fuck. that should be enough—no labels. no stigmas. nothing. just be to be. but life isn’t that kind. people will always find things to hate.”
“i can’t cohabitate with rodents.” she pauses. “that’s a lie. i've lived with loren for nine months, but i draw the line right here.”
“i’m going to slap you on impulse, and then i’m going to feel like utter shit.” “you won’t feel like shit,” i tell her, “because i’ll punish you for it.”
“thank god for connor, right?” he tries to play off the pain that contorts his face. “god always has a way of stealing my credit.”
biting comments, insults, that love-hate relationship is our dynamic. he can’t have it.
“sir is impersonal. you can call me connor, or if you’re really good, i’ll even let you call me richard.”
“i have a rule about drugs.” “and what’s that?” “don’t do them.” he grins. “my body is a temple.” “one that only rose can enter,” loren banters. “i’ll let you in sometime, darling. don’t worry.”
“you think i’m going to sacrifice my relationship with my brother for a girl? then you don’t fucking know me, cobalt.”
i worry that the cameras will pick up any chemistry between them. my mother will not approve of a ryke meadows and daisy calloway coupling.
i want to kick him as badly as he wants to be kicked. i would never go after lily the way he’s going after rose. she may be strong, but she has her moments of fucking fragility. and he’s purposefully breaking her.
"You're not a pit stop. You're my finish line."
