Finally we get to see some action, along with some serious answers!! Franki has taken the first step in learning about who she is and the world that she has discovered. There is still much that she has to learn, but she is finally willing to take her first step in becoming a witch. So exciting!
This book was still highly over dramatic in many aspects, but it was manageable this time around. Franki's learning moments with her world and just about Venom in general were pleasing enough to me to overlook other nauseating aspects. And Franki's best friend Katy is officially the ONLY ONE who gets me. Love that girl for pointing out the obvious. We should really see more of that girl, a lot more often than we do.
I am minimally anticipatory for what the next book has to offer. Four dang books in and it finally seems interesting; It's finally stating to look (dare I say it) possibly GOOD. Still waiting for some explanation on that damn prologue though. *sigh
There's been some repetition in these episodes. For instance, in this one Lyla explains some things about demons and how their magic works to Franki, but someone else already explained that to her in a previous episode. I think this takes away from the narrative.
The Dying: Episode 4 (Sacrifice Me Book #4) by Sarra Cannon ~This was an engrossing story that kept me flipping the pages to find out what Well worth the read.
I loved this serial! Do you know those books that just devour you? Where you look at the page and, instead of seeing words and descriptions, the entire story plays in your mind like a movie? That’s how reading Sarra Cannon’s work is for me, and Sacrifice Me was no exception.
Each episode was a quick read, and took me about an hour to get through each one, a perfect length for someone constantly on the go. I LOVED the inclusion of the characters from Sarra’s previous series, Peachville High Demons, but as she states in the description, you don’t have to have read any of that series to get the most of this one. That being said, I also had a great time guessing and figuring out how Franki’s story was connected the PHD series.
This one had me guessing who was on Franki’s side and who was on the Devil’s side. But I loved the detail about Rend’s mark and was sad to find that it wasn’t mentioned/or used later in the following episodes. Maybe the next Season?
Wow another home run from my favorite indie author Sarra Cannon. I know this is just a segment of a book, but yowza. The only flaw in this book is I couldn't keep going. I am just blown away by this author and I can't wait to follow her career for years to come.
I know that Franki's world takes place in the same time frame as Harper's, but I am just drawn into Franki's life that I feel angst and emotions as I read. I am sitting here with my jaw on the floor at the way Sarra's has left this installment.
The only think I am disliking about our heroin is the fact that she can't "Feel" Rend's true intentions, but I am sure that will get sorted out.
Man, I love this series!!! "The Dying" begins right where the previous episode ended. Franki is reeling from her kiss with Rend and the revelation of what he really is. She is hurt, confused, and refuses to allow him to explain himself. So, she falls asleep on the couch.
When Franki's roommate comes home, she questions her about what has happened. Then, being the voice of reason, she talks Franki into returning to the club. Needless to say, Rend is shocked to see her. They talk and Rend tells her he needs to show her something after work. However, before this can happen all hell breaks loose. The ending left me gasping for air. Ms. Cannon, you are a cruel, cruel soma !
Insta love is not my thing...if you can call it that. Some of the characters in the book keep saying love, but I don't know it is more of a really annoying lust game. And Franki's constant back and forth act is getting on my nerves. But the thing is I can't even stay irritated because I'm just as confused.
On another note the more I learn about venom the more intriguing it is. I liked that you couldn't tell the difference between the drinks and other things in the club unless you had Rend's mark. The potions were a really cool idea. The scientific feel of this novel is an awesome spin on things. Science and magic can go hand in hand if you think about it though.
This series just keeps getting better and better. It took me a little bit to remember what was had happened in the story because it had been so long since I had read the last one. Once I got back into the story, I fell in love with the characters and the plot all over again. It was action packed from beginning to end. And that cliffhanger... wow! Fortunately, all of the books are released so I didn't have to wait long to find out what happens next.
What can I say that I haven't already said before. Not much. Sarra Cannon has a way of drawing you into her world and making you believe it. Not sure how long the serial style of writing has been around but the jury is still out on how I feel about this. Once I am into a book (and I mean really into them) I don't want to wait a couple of weeks before knowing what happens. So if you are anything like me; do yourself a favor and wait until the writer has realeased it as a bundle.
What the WHAT?!!! Franki has so many questions but no answers, she knows there is more to who she is but no one has figured it out yet. The passion Rend and Franki share is off the charts. We know who half of Franki's family is but there is still so much in the shadows! New fav of mine...I just can't get enough of the shadow world! Cannon delivers again! OMG that ending was insane!! I'm jumping on the next book NOW
The problem with reading a series or serial while it's not all out yet? I HAVE TO WAIT TO FIND OUT WTF IS GOING TO HAPPEN! Damn you, Sarra for creating a world and characters that I want to get lost in! LOL kidding, you know I love you!
Loving this supernatural serial! For some reason this one felt a bit shorter than the others but the ending certainly packed a punch. Really can't wait for the next part. Wishing it was already out!
This book went by so quickly, it only took me about an hour to read as I was so engrossed in it and couldn't stop reading. I even walked and read hahaha.
Quick books, the short nature of these books makes them fast to read through and easy to put down. I enjoyed Frankie’s story and how the character developed over the story
