In the New Realms, love can be the most dangerous battle of all...

Terak has fought all enemies to claim Larissa. It doesn't matter that his own Clan looks upon the union with misgivings. It doesn't matter that her family sees a monster when they see him. It doesn't matter, because Larissa is his.

And any who would try to take her away? They'll see what a Gargoyle will do to protect his mate.

Stone Embrace is not a complete story. It would best be described as an extended 30 page epilogue to the novel Stone Guardian. You'll probably have the most enjoyment reading this story if you have read Stone Guardian and already know the characters and world of the Entwined Realms series.

Born to the pothole ridden streets of Pittsburgh, PA, USA Today Bestselling author Danielle Monsch started writing in a time long ago, a time when there were not enough vampire stories to read and she had to write her own to fill the void. Yes, such a time of darkness did indeed exist.

Danielle writes stories full of fantastical goodness and plenty of action, but always with lots of romance (and a bit of woo-hoo!) mixed in. Vampires and Werewolves and Demons and Angels, Sword & Sorcery, Fairy Tales, Updated Mythologies and the like - if it's out of the ordinary, it's fair game for her stories.

When not writing, Danielle reads comic books and watches cartoons (though she says she reads manga and watches anime, because saying it in a different language makes all the difference.) She listens to music, plays D&D, follows XKCD, watches movies with the Rifftrax on, and is mom to two amazing little girls and wife to her favorite guy in the world.

Stone Embrace: A Stone Guardian After-Scene is book #1.1 in the Entwined Realms series by Danielle Monsch. This is a sort of extra epilogue to the first book, Stone Guardian.

Terak and Larissa have been through so much. Their love is strong but with the special abilities Larissa possesses, will she ever be safe? Will Terak’s people ever really accept her? And now, they must also face Larissa’s father, Jack. She is his youngest child and only daughter. Will he ever really accept that Larissa’s mate is a gargoyle? In his eyes, Terak is a monster!

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en

All of these obstacles force Terak to worry whether Larissa will stay with him. So we see a whole new side of him in this short story. A much more dominant and very sexy side of him. I fell in love with these two in the first book so I completely enjoyed getting this little extra something. And I especially enjoyed that we get some additional steamy scenes since I missed that in the first book. So if you have read Stone Guardian and enjoyed Larissa and Terak, don’t miss this one!

My mate. My love. Mine."

This was a short novella where the leader of the Gargoyles, Terak meets Jack Miller, Larissa Joy ‘Ris’ Miller (26)'s dad. You see POVs from each three. Let's just say daddy ain't happy his little girl is dating another spices. You also get a scene scene where Terak's beast/demon comes out and are quite dominating, which was hot to see. Unfortunately, it was also ruined when, the next day, Larissa was in charge and was dirty talking. I like it when the men do the commanding and the dirty talking. Luckily, it was a short scene. Overall, I do not recommend reading this one without reading book one, Stone Guardian . That being said, it was a short, somewhat cute, but kinda unnecessary. Nothing new happens and one wouldn't miss anything if one where to skip it. But I have to say, I do appreciate Larissa refusing to hide any part of who Terak is.

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Adult) Paranormal Romance (M/F).
Series: - Series, Book One.One.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Terak.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Sure.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Sure.
Will I read this again in the future? - No.
Rating - 2.5.

Before I start this review I want to point out that Stone Embrace is an extended epilogue to Stone Guardian and is not meant to be read as a stand alone story. If you're new to the series this really isn't a good place to start (but it's a series I HIGHLY recommend so go and grab Stone Guardian now!). You should also be aware that Danielle Monsch wrote this as a FREE extra for her fans so I would recommend getting your copy via All Romance eBooks or iTunes until Amazon fix their pricing (you may wish to send them a link to the cheaper version using their price match feature to encourage them to fix this faster, I already have).

If you read my review of Stone Guardian last year you'll already know how much I loved the first instalment of Danielle Monsch's new paranormal romance series. In fact, along with fellow bloggers Cory, Ange and Brandi we got a little fan girly over the story and we have all been bugging Danielle for more ever since. We did mention at the time that we would have loved more of an epilogue about the main characters Terak and Larissa, in particular I think we were hoping for more hot sex and I believe it was Cory that mentioned she'd like to see a little tail action since Terak is a gargoyle.

I'm very happy to say that Danielle not only heard our plea, she also acted on it and wrote Stone Embrace! I'm not going to go into much detail about what is included in this 30 page extended epilogue, I'm just going to tell you that if you enjoyed Stone Guardian you will love this short story. I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Larissa and Terak and this has just left me more eager than ever to continue reading the series.

I had to include a screenshot of the Dedication in my review:

This really made my day so thank you Danielle! Now I can finally cross "corrupt an author" off of my bucket list LOL.

Originally Reviewed For: Bodice Rippers, Femme Fatales and Fantasy as a short story

If you are like me and love a good story. Romance entwined with the unique. A story of action and adventure, opposing realms and interaction between the "normal" and the para normal. You will LOVE Danielle Monsch's Entwined Realms Series.

Danielle tells the story of the Day the Worlds collided, literally.. ok the realms collided and the after effects of such an occurrence. As time goes by humans are beginning to accept the new residents but still there is distrust between the species. And as always there is love and greed and prejudice. But some brave individuals are managing to co exist. And for some there is even hope for a better future. But as you all know Nothing comes without a price.

Stone Embrace is a short story sharing a few moments in time with Terak and Larissa. The Hero (A Gargoyle) and the Heroine (a human) in Stone Guardian. I have been waiting patiently for book two but Ms Monsch tells us that things are a bit behind as she is suffering from life interuptus. But she has gifted us with this wonderful short story.

While Terak and Larissa have accepted their differences and Larissa has chosen her sides.. not everything has been resolved. Most importantly Larissa's father. A man who LOATHES those from the other realm. He lost the love of his life in the collision and that has left him justifiably angry. Now he is in a position where his only daughter has chosen a Gargoyle as a mate. He has to decide.. accept him or loose her?

Some really great father of the bride, er mate moments and it goes to show that even a gargoyle has to bow down to his mate's father..

In a separate moment Tarek and Larissa have to once again accept each other for who and what they are. Accept that it will be dangerous but if they rely on each other they might just make it through.

A fun story.. and yes, it's me so I have to say.. I WANT MORE!!!

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 unicorns - I loved it!!
***Free on most platforms, so get it now!!

First things first, this is like a deleted scene for the movie or extended ending. I don’t recommend reading this until you’ve read book 1, Stone Guardian.

The cover is okay, but I wish it would have shown both of them together, but the traditional gargoyle in the background is a nice touch.

This scene since it really isn’t a book about her dad bringing reality into their relationship, and Terak like any Alpha male has to show his dominance and control to ease his own fears after the dreaded dinner with dad. This is very steamy and should only be read by adults, and it is definitely making me think I could use my own gargoyle :) This is less than 30 pages, so it is a quick read.

Danielle’s writing style is awesome, but this is just a tease. I’m glad it was a freebie since it isn’t a book. I like that she is toying with the idea to add this to book 1 because that is a great idea :) I really can’t wait for book 2 :)

This is a great add-on to book 1, and I highly recommend anyone who has read Stone Guardian to read this as well especially since it is FREE. I’m really looking forward to book 2 when it comes out :)

This "After-Scene" doesn't really work unless you've read Stone Guardian first. Just as Ms. Monsch discusses in her author's note at the beginning.

I LOVED the creation of this tale: Goodreads readers challenging Monsch to take on an added tale for our awesome couple. Apparently, we wanted hotter, rougher sex. From a gargoyle. In his non-human form.

Ahem. Imagine the grey version of the Hulk, with a prehensile tale, and soft, leathery wings. And a much more handsome face, of course. Taking on the new missus after a pretty emotional first meeting with her all-male relatives.

Toe curling fun. I'm looking forward to more.

Heed the warning in the blurb, my friends. This is an awesome little epilogue, but it would have a hard time standing on its own. This part of Terak and Larissa's story is sexy fun, don't get me wrong, but this is the cherry on top, not the main course.

That said, a sexy, brooding gargoyle with plenty of responsibility who still finds time to show his lady how much she means to him? YESSSS! Terak certainly doesn't fall down in that regard. He unleashes a side of himself that sends Larissa's lady parts fluttering. And her heart. But mostly her parts.

This continues to be a very fun, intriguing world with sexy characters. *thumbs up*

And you thought meeting your in-laws was stressful? Try being a gargoyle, or bringing one home to papa.

Short and sweet (read: steamy!) continuation of Terak and Larissa's story. Larissa brings Terak home to her father for the formal meeting. Things aren't exactly peachy, but that's to be expected based on how the actual book, Stone Guardian, ended.

If you haven't read Stone Guardian, please do so before reading this little short. Not only is that book fantastic, but it also gives you the full story of all the characters involved in this novella. Stone Embrace is best read with full comprehension of everyone's backstory and the particular world they live in.

While not as good as getting another book in this world RIGHT NOW!, this epilogue is grand. The sexy times are hot enough to melt stone and we see great character development here.

I loved Stone Guardian so is no big shocker than I enjoyed spending more time in this would with this couple.

Thank you for the lovely (and burning hot) moments!

I was given this short story for my honest review. So, there you have it!

Great follow up novella.

This is a short update on Larissa and Terak from 'Stone Guardian' and since I loved that book this is icing on the cake. In Stone Guardian we left Larissa and Terak as they were preparing to meet with her father this book covers that meeting and the aftermath.
Wonderful, just can't get enough of these two hope they're in the books that follow.

This is a short novella in the Entwined Realms series, but can be read as a standalone. Sexy and beautiful I loved it and will read the rest of the books in this wonderful series.

Opening Scene:

Now was the answer.

The Review:

After dinner with Larissa’s father going badly wrong. Fear settles into Larissa and Terak. Larissa is terrified of the danger she’s putting Tarek through by being with him, and Tarek is terrified that Larissa will leave him to try and protect him. Tarek decides that he will show Larissa just how masterful he is in the most delicious way possible and make sure she never leaves him.

Notable Scene:

“Your father,” and the word father in that tone was a blasphemy. “Did he change your mind about your place here?”
“My father didn’t change my mind about anything. I am where I want to be.”
“Are you sure?” No physical change took place, but somehow she could swear Terak wound tighter and tighter, drawing himself in as he unleashed what he had held back earlier. “He did not tell you how you were in danger here? About how you did not belong amongst the Clan? About how gargoyles will betray you the moment first possible?” “He doesn’t understand, and you yourself told me to be patient with him. He’ll get to know you and he won’t have such prejudiced views.”
Terak went on as if she hadn’t interrupted. “And did he not tell you about how you being here was to invite my death and put me in danger.”
Here she paused, the echo of her father’s warning rampant in her head no matter how hard she pushed down. The momentary silence was a mistake, as Terak honed in on the stutter.

FTC Advisory: Romantic Geek Publishing through Net Galley provided me with a copy of Stone Embrace by Danielle Monsch. Romantic Geek Publishing. Kindle Edition. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

Stone Embrace takes place directly after Stone Guardian ends and is NOT meant to be read alone. I adored the full length book and the world Monsch had created within it so it was a no brainer that I had to pick this one up.

Larissa and her gargoyle leader, Terak have just embarked on a budding relationship and now they must sit down wither her father who is less than enthused about them. Being a police officer sworn to protect the public, he knows first hand how dangerous the paranormal population can be and now that he knows gargoyles exist he’s even more convinced of the threat.

Of course these two virile men are both intent on keeping Larissa safe, though they have two very different ideas of how to go about that. I hated her father trying to plant the seed of doubt in her mind but could understand his desperate attempt to regain control over the situation. It’s obvious how much she adores Terak and how the feeling is mutual so her father may have won the short battle but Terak definitely won the big one.

This was a super fast read that only took me about 40 minutes but it was 40 minutes well spent. I want to crawl in this world Monsch has made and build my own life there. The tension between Larissa and Terak is spot on and perfectly done. It’s vivid and lush and I cannot wait for the next full length book! Also….GARGOYLES. Nuff said.

I give Stone Embrace by Danielle Monsch 4 stars!

Series: Entwined Realms #1.5
Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance
Received from: Amazon purchase (permanently free)
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Grammar/editing: A – near perfect

This is an epilogue to Stone Guardian. It could be read alone, but I strongly urge you to enjoy Stone Guardian first.

I thought my first dinner with the new in-laws was bad (I got a bloody nose in the middle of dinner due to my allergies.) Larissa and Terak are both on edge because dear old Dad is against their relationship/mating. Afterwards, sexy reassurance calms them both. (Nope, I’m not telling you what exactly that means. You’ll have to read it).

Danielle,

Thank you for this wonderful little follow-up. It was very sweet of you to give all of your fans a free little treat. This was masterfully wrought and for just a little while I had returned to a world where anything is possible.

Of course like the greedy little bitch that I am, I can only say, “more, more, more!” I am looking forward to more from this little Realm that you have built.

Hugs,
Your sister-from-another-mister in Florida.

This story started at the in-law dinner from HADES for Gargoyle clan leader Terak & his human mate, Larissa. Larissa's dad is the grumpy head detective of the police force & her too many older brothers were also showing their displeasure at her choice of hubby. What better way to forget the dinner nightmare than a night of Teak's domineering moves to send Larissa into a whole new orgasmic universe. Ms. Monsch is my kind of author because she wrote this HOTNESS extended version of her 1st book because her fans demanded more loving' & the dad meets his daughter's gargoyle hubby moment. Ms. Monsch can write utterly decadent "Pantie Dropping" scenes & I am hooked! I will be collecting as many of her books that my itsy bitsy payday can handle! She does state that reading the 1st book before this 1, so that is my only disappointment. I could of done that, but I am a reading trailblazer & had to do it my way! I am Ms. Monsch newest fan (insert pompoms here) & give her a score of 4 fingers up & 8 toes for this sexy quickie!

NetGalley ARC given for my honest review.

Ms. Monsch was right. I was wondering how the meet and greet with Larissa's dad would go. AND, it's always fun to have a steamy scene or two.

This short story gives us all that. It was fun, sweet, and hot. I enjoyed Stone Guardian very much and getting to see the characters again was great. It certainly made me want the next one in the series right now! Hmmm, I may have to go back and read Stone Guardian again, just to tide me over. That won't be a hardship.

The fact that the author intends this to stay FREE is also a bonus. Thank you for your generosity!

If you've read Stone Guardian, you'll really enjoy this little extra. And if you haven't, go read it now! You won't be disappointed! Gargoyles for the win!

Leaves you wanting more!

Leaves you wanting more!

Before I start, if you have not read Stone Guardian do yourself a favor and read that first, Stone Embrace is not meant to be a stand alone book. Having said that, this was a wonderful addition to Larissa and Terak's story and picks up where Stone Guardian leaves off. Larissa's father Jack is having trouble accepting the fact that his little girl is mated to a gargoyle and Terak and Jack have to reach some sort of understanding. The chemistry between Larissa and Terak is palpable and leaves you wanting more. Danielle Monsch won me over, I'm a huge gargoyle fan now. Bring on the gargoyles. I can't wait to read what happens next in Larissa and Terak's story in the Entwined Realms series!

"Stone Embrace" by Danielle Monsch is an add-on to its predecessor, "Stone Guardian". It's a really quick read but it does pack a punch in terms of creating an interesting epilogue after the second to the last chapter (since the last chapter was more about Fallon and Reign and may--or may not--give us an idea what's in store for one of the future books in the series).

It was nice seeing the dynamics between Tarek and Larissa's family and if there was any doubt how much he truly loved her, this novella showcases his devotion and affection. It was quite an enjoyable read and I recommend that you read the novel, "Stone Guardian", before heading into this freebie. :)

"Stone Embrace" gets four stars!

WOW!!! What more can you say! For those who have read Stone Guardian, this was a brilliant look into what happened after the final word. Without giving to much away, it was fantastic to get a look into the family's reaction to Terak and even though Larissa and Terak still have a few issues to iron out, part of the fun is watching them grow... And the chemistry, phew, I think I need a cold shower!
I love the world Danielle has built and the characters I've come to love and/or hate.I can't wait for what she has install for us next!!
If your looking for something new... This is a definite two thumbs up!!!

An ALPHA Gargoyle with the Naughtiest Tail!

STONE EMBRACE by Danielle Monsch is a very quick read in Danielle's Entwined Realms series. It's definitely not a standalone; The author states that clearly. I do not recommend reading this story without reading STONE GUARDIAN first. However, fans of STONE GUARDIAN should download and inhale this FREE read NOW!

I really enjoyed this short little after scene that takes place after Stone Guardian. It was good to see Terak interact with Larissa's father and also how strong their love really is. I always love extra sexy fun time and this book had it! If you want a little something to wet your whistle before the next book in the series this is great. I would recommend reading Stone Guardian first though and not just because of this but because it is also a great book.

It was ok. It has been a while since the first book came out, that this "very short story" was hard for me to remember what had happened. I go through so many books. I wish it was longer, expanded more of the story line and was more than a love scene. You (the author) waited too long to come out with this snipit. If you (a reader) are looking for more of the story, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for a heated exchange then a steamy love scene, enjoy.

If you read Stone Guardian, you know that Terak and Larissa where the featured couple in a story full of enjoyable characters. It was wonderful to spend more time with them, both alone as a couple and seeing what happened when Terak meets Larissa's human family. I could read a whole series focusing just on them. Unfortunately, this only wet my appetite for more.

Oh Boy! I am so glad that you have given up more information on Larissa and Terek. I like that they are true to themselves. Personally, I had a father who knew my husband was totally wrong for me. It took years for him to tell me he was wrong. It ain't all easy but it works so much better when your partner wants the best for you and vice versa. Keep these stories coming!

this is a great add on to the 'Stone Guardian'. it can stand alone as a great scene that shows 2 'people' that are deeply in love and how they deal with the family issues come with any relationship, but having read the main book will help you understand why this is happening. it's truly a short story, you can get through it in 20-30 minutes. i am definitely looking forward to book 2!
