The author, Vanessa Richardson, is a woman with a very strong faith and a very powerful story to tell. She has lived through a lot in her life, and her book is intended to inspire others who are suffering and maybe help them understand their suffering in a new way. There are many grammatical and typographical errors, and I found them very distracting from the story. The back cover of this book says that Richardson is working on her second book, and I hope she will work with a different editor on that one. Her story is inspirational and the right editor will help in making sure that her message comes across clearly.

The Certain Ones: You're Not Forsaken. You're Chosen for Purpose, has an empowering, edifying, and encouraging message for people in all walks of life--especially those seeking God, for the calling placed on their lives. Yet, some of us focus primarily on our circumstances and situations at hand, instead of becoming more than conquerors. There are onlookers or watchers, who do not understand how "certain ones" keep pressing and pushing when the pressure is at a high, where it seems like no way out.

Vanessa Richardson also shares her heartrending and touching experiences, with transparent struggles that some of us can relate to (or unseemly cannot imagine being in her shoes) and her faithfulness while walking with God.

I know the adage: Do not to judge a book, by its cover. I confess that, it was the cover of the book that first caught my attention. I woman appearing to hold the sun in her hands, certainly is an attention grabber.

I appreciate this book, as it has encouraged me a great deal. What I loved best about this book, was the uncanny knack Vanessa had with making me feel as though, she was talking directly to me! What a moving testimony Vanessa has. I am impressed by her faith and courage. I recommend this book to married women, but to single women, especially.

This book tells a story of how a person faces the storms of life alone, reaching out for God. Yes, there are family members and friends around, but there is a special journey in life that one has to walk alone to find destiny.

Destiny calls out to each person in a different way and we all have different experiences to share. In fact, each of us answers the call of destiny in a different way just as the author did.

Each chapter seems to be unique by itself, offering a lesson to be learnt. I found this lesson most enlightening: that when a Teacher gives a test, He doesn't speak. It defintely helped me understand some lingering questions I had. =)
