Bullets and Babies!

Victoria writes about guys loving other guys in between dodging bullets, kidnappers, and serial killers. She enjoys putting them through hell to get their happy ever after—it’s a character flaw she embraces.

She also believes that family is who you choose, that dogs are often much wiser than human beings, and that we’re steadily destroying the world we live in.

And if people read more books, they'd be much happier.

Bo is an abused omega who ran away from his alpha while pregnant. He just wants to raise his baby and to be appreciated and loved. The universe seems to be working against him and he fears for his life as well as his baby's. But maybe fate has other plans when Gabe finds him in labor and together, they can be a family for Christmas.

Oh my gosh...this was just the sweetest holiday read ever! Yes, it's a bit cheesy and definitely insta-love. But, it hit the spot and just gave me all kinds of warm fuzzies and good feels.

His First Christmas by Victoria Sue
Mpreg romance holiday novella. M-M. His First series #1.
Escaping from an abusive alpha, Bo goes into early labor during an early snowstorm. Fortunately Gabe finds and rescues the omega and helps deliver the baby. But the danger isn’t over when complications cause Gabe and Bo to go back to the emergency clinic.

A sweet romance where Bo needs as much family love as romantic love. He gets both from Gabe and his friends and neighbors.
Heartwarming and sappy. My favorite types of romance.

Short and sweet. Bo was a bit of a naive little drama queen but I forgave him quickly considering how sheltered he was. Insta-lust and insta-love. It was fun. Although I do miss Victoria brand of sexy though.

3.25 it was a fun one stars

Cute, sweet, cheesy with a side of install love - perfect for a quick holiday read. 🎅

Oh, and there was no heat (definitely no steam) and it didn't bother me in the slightest 😆

This was a sweet romantic read with elements of mpreg, kind gentle alpha, omega on the run and a town full of wonderful families and friends who made Christmas wishes come true. There is just a tad of angst, a lot of hope and plenty love! It was very enjoyable and so happy that it made me sigh in the end - feel good kind of story! This is actually my first Christmas read ever and I am glad I started with Ms Sue's story! I highly recommend it!

**** The first real Christmas for sweet Bo and his love, and mate, Gabe ! (Mpreg-non-shifter).
A different take on the laws and attitudes of the Alpha/Omega relationships.
* Sweet Bo, escapes his cruel Alpha and his wife, who overworked him, beat him and starved him. Bo's strength showed through as he wants more for himself and his unborn baby.

While escaping and going into labor, the icy snow takes his truck into a ditch.
* Veterinarian, Gabe, 36, finds and rescues him, getting them to safety and then the hospital.

These characters are wonderful, and we want dear Bo and lonely Gabe, to find happiness.
This is a marvelous short story for the Christmas season and beyond, that will warm your soul.
A new author for me to follow.

Heartwarming, caring and loving. ENJOY !

This was cute! The end was a little rushed and I wanted them to talk things out a bit sooner, but overall I enjoyed it.

Bo is a pregnant omega who is running from his alpha. In this world omegas are simply property and if a married couple wants a baby, they simply get an omega as a ‘breeding box’. And that’s why Bo is running. He doesn’t want them to take his baby away. He loves his baby.

When he goes into labour 4 week too soon, he isn’t sure what to do. The remote cabin he is in is not equipped to have a child in. And male omegas always need medical help when they give birth. So Bo sees no other way than to get in his car and drive to the omega clinic. But because of the heavy snowfall he doesn’t get very far and drives his car in a ditch.

That’s when veterinarian Gabe drives by. He takes one look at the distressed omega and knows he has to help him. He has delivered several babies over the years so he can do this. Doesn’t matter that those babies were of the animal kind and not the human kind, all Gabe knows he has to help Bo.

Gabe drives Bo back to his cabin and safely delivers the baby. When they arrive at the clinic the next day, Bo’s alpha suddenly appears to take away his baby. So Gabe has no other choice than to claim Bo himself. Luckily he really wants to anyway….

This was a nice mpreg Christmas novella. I especially liked how sweet Gabe was. He was an alpha but he was so gentle and kind. He was really good to Bo, and I loved that he just wanted to take care of him.

What I didn’t particularly like was that Bo didn’t talk to Gabe about his fears and that he assumed he would be property to him too. But despite that this was still an enjoyable read.

Well now, that was some insta, insta, insta love! Whew, luckily it works way better when it is an Alpha/Omega pairing because Holy INSTALOVE Batman!

So, I think I am more of a fan of the Omega stories where the Omega is cherished. I always feel so sad reading about mistreated Omegas, especially when they are written as nurturing like Bo was. What he was running from and what he was going through because of old, antiquated laws made me so upset. I hope as the series continues some changes are made.

Anyway, this was cute. A super quick, silly misunderstandings but finding home kind of story that was filled with all the Christmas feelings, love, hope and family.

I'll take a look at the rest of the series.

Really, really quick Insta-love...but I still liked it. I especially loved the world-building - which, considering the shorter length of this tale, is still relatively well-done; had an almost Handmaid's Tale-esque origin story for the existence of Omega Mpreg which was surprisingly different than many of the other Mpreg/ABO stories out there.

Bo was really naive, but given his upbringing I guess that's par for the course. I really appreciated what he did behind the scenes and out of the eye of the asshole Alpha/Wife pair to educate himself and set up a way out of that untenable situation. In some ways that inherited cabin was a tad too Deus Ex Machina and other than the tiny detail of having at least a little support and love from deceased grandparents having that cabin almost could have been done away with. Especially since .

The book also didn't have the heat I've come to expect from this author...but given the time frame and setting I think it was probably the right choice for this story.

A sweet and feel-good book, though. Really makes you appreciate the men (and women) that step up to be parents to their partner's children.

Awww, this is a whole book of awww

Well that was just delightful. I love a good omegaverse romance and Victoria Sue knows how to deliver.

This was a lovely festive story with omega Bo finding his own true home with kind hearted veterinarian Greg when he rescued him while in labour during a snow storm.

First in a new series, I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.

What a great holiday story! I just loved this one but I wish it was longer because there's so much that could have been explored in depth. Let's just say the baby on the cover sold me on the book but the contents delivered on my expectations. Perhaps we can have a revisit with this sweet little family in the future?

It's short enough that I don't want to give away spoilers by adding detail but I will say that I highly recommend it. Especially if you love mpreg, alpha men willing to step up to be a daddy and sweet guys whose omega lives have been hell until that meet that special alpha. Sweet holiday treat.

Rating this quick read is really difficult.
I was looking for a short sweet mindless story with positive vibes and that was exactly what I got here.
I am absolutely no fan of mpreg, it is one of the most ridiculous tropes in mm romance, but sometimes I make an exception and find it okay.
Not much angst, the little drama easily solved, overall I really enjoyed the story of a pregnant Omega trying to get to a clinic when going into labor during a snowstorm. The alpha vet (the animal kind not the army one) who comes to their rescue is too good to be true, an absolute sweetheart who more or less falls in love with our little Omega and his newborn baby girl immediately.
If you wait for something unexpected or any surprise you definitely won't find it here - the story is absolutely rushing towards the (happy) end.
I didn't mind and loved the short distraction, it was the perfect book for the moment, so giving 3 stars seems wrong but rating it 3.5 means it is well above average (for me) and that would bring it to the same level of some really outstanding stories, which seems ridiculous.
So, I will choose the perfect solution (as I am a libra and always have problems deciding) I will go for 3.25 stars, which is my easy way out ;-)

This might be the schmoopiest, sweetest, most insta-loving-est thing I have ever read from this author, and I LOVED it! Very sweet, I just adored Bo. I felt bad for everything he had been put through, and I loved the timid hopefulness he had when he met Gabe.

Victoria Sue always writes such heart melting, swoony alphas - good men who know how to treat and respect their omegas, and Gabe is no exception to this. Adored him and wanting to do right by Bo and totally falling head over heels in love with him right away. Yes, there is insta-love here - a serious case of it, but it worked with the setting, situation, and c'mon, it's Christmas!

The author has said she has stories in mind for Jonathan and Matthew, and I can't wait! Bring it on!

It's been a long time since I've read a Victoria Sue book. Too long. I don't think I could've picked up a better one after my absence. If you're looking for sweet, His First Christmas has that in spades. The characters - Bo, an omega, and Gabe, an alpha - are so different yet perfect for each other.

A very enjoyable read. I look forward to reading the next one in the series.

This was a short quick read that I liked. Bo is on the run from his abusive Alpha and his wife when he goes into labor he goes out into a snow storm where he crashes. Gabe is going home after visiting a farm to deliver a calf when he is almost run off the road by Bo when finds that he is in labor he takes him and helps deliver his baby. This book was a cute insta-love story without the sex. When his Alpha Eric shows up at the hospital Bo has a choice to make. I liked that Gabe's friend Jonathan who is a doctor deck him because he thought that Gabe abused him. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

This reminded me a lot of Linda Howard's Bluebird Winter, so much so that at first I thought they were the same book. However, this had a male omega MC instead of a woman. It was a pretty good story, although I worried every time the door opened that it was Eric turning up like the tarnished penny he was. I have to admit I was surprised he didn't fight harder for the baby.

It was a nice way to pass the time.

Read this in 2021. I remember hating the laws in this particular A/b/o world, and how much I despised Bo's original alpha. I like this author's writing, and the story was sweet.

Alphas and omegas. My faves. A beautiful omega in labor and on the run, and an ummated veterinarian alpha, who’s immediately in love with this strong omega. Even though to, he’s weak. But to survive what he’s been through and still going through, it makes him strong and I love it.
Bo didn’t know how he was going to get to the clinic with all the snow, but he has no choice. He’s in labor early and for their safety, he has to get moving. But between the contractions and the snow, he slides off the road and is terrified of what is going to happen to both of them. But Christmas must have some miracles in store for Bo, because another alpha, who’s sweet as can be, and a vet, helps Bo through the delivery and taking care of his daughter. Once the snow has calmed, Gabe has to rush Bo to the clinic due to complications, and things become very complicated. Gabe gets treated like crap and even punched and doesn’t know why until his friend explains and Gabe is determined then and there, he will never let anyone else hurt a hair on their heads every again. He was going to make Bo his. But between the old alpha showing up and Gabe not wording things correctly, things just seem to be falling apart. Can Christmas pull out another miracle or will Gabe continue to suffer in that empty house alone?
I hate alphaholes. Here again is another example of how strong omegas are. Dealing with an abusive and messed up situation, Bo goes on the downlow to get things taken care of. Especially when he finds out his parents could care less about him and when he finds out he’s pregnant. But he does what he needs to do and escapes and will do all he can to make sure this baby, which he hated at first, knows it’s loved and will always be loved and treated correctly. That is some damn fine strength. I love my omegas. The strong willed, strong hearted and just plain strong in almost anything, even when beaten down. But I love Gabe too. Because Gabe is a good alpha. He cares about omega and their rights and wants what is best for Bo and his baby. Even if that means he claims him as property in order to get him away from an abusive relationship. He may mess up his words a lot and apologize a lot, but his heart is pure gold and he’s trying his best to make it right. That’s the way it should be. Equal footing, equal ground. And someone who cares, not someone trying to be all alpha on anyone they meet.
I love these stories. I’m going about them a little backwards, since I’ve already done book 4, but it’s nice to go back and see how things got started. I can’t wait to read the other two.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

His First Christmas is sweet. Really, that’s it. I mean it’s really sweet without being overly saccharine and for fans of the Omegaverse, there’s a lot to like. Bo comes from a version of the Omegaverse where Omegas are property and not much else. They have few protections under the law and we get the impression that abuse is common. Gabe is pretty un-Alpha like, but he and Bo still work well together.

This was a quick read and one I enjoyed, but I’m not above pointing out the frankly ridiculous timeframe. Something like five whole days pass from start to finish and during that time, the relationship between Gabe and Bo moves insanely fast. I realize that’s common enough in Alpha/Omega books, but this one seemed to stretch its already thin credibility with everything else that happens. I also felt that Bo and Gabe needed a bit of fleshing out. This is a novella, but even given its shorter length, I wanted to know more about where each man was coming from. That might have helped the believability issue as well.

He said that people should be kind to one another because it was the right thing to do, not because it was a promise of a better future or a different life, but because they needed to make better the one they already had. — Bo Rawlings

This is a short little story playing with A/B/O dynamics and the importance of communication. All I wanted was for Bo and Gabe to listen each others actions. Bo is a sweetie. He is staying strong for the sake of his child. But he is stronger than he knows. Gabe is out of his depth and he knows it. He is drawing his strength from his professional side. The story is them coming to terms with what they are to each other and some holiday calamity. Other characters are introduced that Victoria Sue uses in later books.

This is my first holiday book for the season and I'm kinda happy I chose this one. It's fun and the length despite only being 90 pages feels right. Longer would feel needless stopping before the ending or having less detail wouldn't allow the story to be told. It's an enjoyable afternoon read for those that it appeals to.

3.5/5 A cute little story I managed to squeeze in before Christmas was officially over. It was okay enough, my biggest issue was the insta-love, but with Victoria Sue, what else can you really expect? Nonetheless, it was an easy, light read perfect for the holiday season.

Es war schon putzig zu lesen. Aber die Geschichte hätte einfach viel mehr Potential gehabt, das leider verschenkt wurde. Dabei kann es die Autorin ja. *seufz* Aber bei ihr ist es immer ein Glücksspiel. Mal hast du Glück, mal hast du Pech. Dieses Mal war es halt gehobenes Mittelmaß.

His First Christmas is an MPreg Christmas tale. So, that has to be something you enjoy in order to enjoy this. Bo is a sweet, scared, abused, and adorable omega who is going into labor. Of course it's in the middle of a snowstorm, an his car dies. Gabe is a veterinarian who is a lone wolf of sorts. He spends the holidays alone every year. While that was super sad I did wonder how that was possible with as many friends he seemed to have. Why didn't any of them ever ask him to join them? I did expect there to be no one in his life but that wasn't true so I was curious about that.

Gabe takes a lot of crap from people in this story when assumptions are made and I was really in awe of him for taking the heat on it. Bo's fear was believable and so were his reactions. Standing up for anything was never something he did and his strength needed to be built.

All in all this is truly a sweet story with a fairytale-esque feel to it. Perfect holiday fun and lots and lots of love!
