Rebel Love #3

Rebel Desire

Rate this book
As a wedding photographer, it’s no surprise that Ashley Murphy, despite her perpetual singleness, is a little in love with love.

When she catches a hunky best man checking her out while on the job, her heart all but shouts, “He’s the one." Until he opens his mouth. Colton Banks is a cocky lawyer with a mean streak a country mile wide.

Colton prefers order to chaos. He believes there’s a time and place for everything, so when a lilac-haired hottie sends him a flirtatious wink while she’s on the job, he’s less than impressed.

When she shows up at his office a week later asking for legal help, his first instinct is to send her packing. But day after day, she returns, finding new elaborate ways to break him down.

It’s not until a life-altering surprise shows up on Colton’s doorstep that things start to change. Ironically, the answer to his problem may be his incredibly annoying, free-spirited new “friend.”

Complications. Lust. Attraction. Love.

As their tenuous friendship grows, the chemistry between them becomes a raging inferno, and everyone knows you can’t deny your rebel desires.

This one hit me in the feels.

This one was good. At its base thus book is a single dad romance. What really hit me in my feels was the how the hero becomes the dad, and how the heroine is part of that journey. It’s just... a good story. Colton was a little TOO rude for me personally at the jump, and that’s why i didn’t rate it higher. I was kind of annoyed at little things he’d say to the heroine, but overa enjoyed!

Rebel Desire by LK Farlow
“Opposites attract, 5 stars”

To say Ashley and Colton got off on the wrong foot would be an understatement. He’s uptight and a rule follower. Ashley walks to the beat of her own drum. They probably don’t belong together, but they do. Farlow pulled me in with their story. I loved the way Ashley broke Colton down and made him soft, in a good way. The twist in this story I also enjoyed. Oh, how it made my heart flutter.
If you like a good story with a surprise single parent and two polar opposite people falling in love look no further.

LK Farlow has created a divine escape from reality with Rebel Desire. The enemies to lovers trope is my favorite. All the tension and feels leave me giddy. This author knows how to swoon readers while keeping us on the edge of our seats. Mix all that with a single parent twist? Romance gold. Rebel Desire is sure to satisfy all your cravings!

*I was given this book as an ARC to read and review.”

Modern day beauty and the beast with a rebel twist. Colton is a gromp but Ashley brings out his inner prince.

Standing Ovation for LK Farlow and the wonderful southern world she envelopes you in and captures your heart one rebel at a time. This is the 9th book of hers that I have read and let me tell you what, no way was I disappointed. Everything about this story oozes southern charm and transports you straight to the heart of the south. I read the first 8 of her books in 4 days and I am so glad I decided to dive into her work. She is my new favorite Author. It is hard to find someone who can keep you interested book after book. LK Farlow is the QUEEN of keeping you hooked and Rebel Desire was yet again another Masterpiece. While reading Rebel Soul I despised how grumpy Colton was, and I was desperate to find out what made Colton so damn bitter, and I’m pretty convinced Colton just wants to be a loner grump for the rest of his life. Ashley however is a lavender haired goddess. She is bright and sunshiny and seems to have a good head on her shoulders. And she is oh so funny! I loved her attitude towards her best friend Mally in Best of Me. Their dynamic is just as fun in Rebel Desire. I don’t think that Colton wants to be an asshole to Ashley I just think it comes naturally to him. I absolutely adore the way he looks out for Ashley even when he is being an ass he has her best interests at heart. TOOK HIM LONG ENOUGH
I was frustrated with Colton at first but he quickly grew on me, and Ashley had me laughing with her millennial Gen Z slang right away! I can’t say enough wonderful things about the characters Farlow has created. If I could live in any book universe I’ve read it would be this one. I was so pumped that sassy Tatum got a mention in this book! She is my absolute favorite book character of all time.
You know you have come across a true master of her art when you want to forget about mundane tasks and submerge yourself in her book until you are gasping for breathe at the last page.
My advice... buy this book but read EVERY OTHER ONE OF HER BOOKS FIRST in order. I promise you will not regret it. You meet a lot of characters along the way that are involved in each story line. I love authors who introduce you to characters in their first book that they envtually write about.
I was ugly crying by the time I was finished, It was just damn near perfection.

LK Farlow has done it again. Not that I’m surprised.

I think, as a romance reader, one of the things I don't like is fading to black sex scenes.
It's like with the insta love, why taking the good stuff from us?

Not only this story had the longest fucking ever slow burn (86%), when they FINALLY did the deed the author cut the finish line. 🙄
Really?! Now, when the anticipated moment has arrived, is the time for the heroine to explain something about romance and universe I don't give a fuck about??

Maybe I'm too picky but that's me.

Otherwise it was a solid four stars.

The hero was a lawyer who had been raised by two mothers (Yeahy!!) And discovered one day that he has a five years old son.
Great boy the little one. I love single daddy stories.
The boy stupid mother abandoned him with the hero.

The heroine was a cool photographer with purple hair and a positive attitude. I liked her, she had self confidence for miles.

He hated her in the beginning without really knowing who she is, treating her badly and patronizing her.
She, on the other hand, fell in love with him on the spot, calling him (in her head) her soulmate.

But she wasn't his dormant. No. She was a very strong woman who knew what she wanted. He didn't know her feelings until he had them too.

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

This was a delightful little story that really had me hooked from the start. This is a romcom that had me smiling my face off.

I really enjoyed the author's writing style. It was very welcoming and the narration was very smooth. The plot of the story definitely had me invested in the story. I couldn't put the book down. I did feel that there wasn't enough conflict at the end of the story though. Things kind of wrapped up a little too nicely.

The characters were very relatable and likable. I loved the progression of Colton's character the most. I also admired Ashley's character for going after what she wants and sticking to her guns. I felt that Colton's character had a little bit more depth than Ashley's character. There were some wonderful secondary characters. It just so happens that some of them are from other books by this author so I will have to check them out. I am definitely curious now.

The one thing that I didn't like about the romance was the one-sided instalove on Ashley's side. She had the idea that she could tell that Colton was her soulmate from the moment that she saw him and she kept referring to that concept throughout the book. It just felt a little outlandish to me that she was so caught up on it. That aside, I felt that Colton and Ashley had great chemistry when they were together. The connection that they form is vibrant. I also loved how Cruz's presence in their lives brought them out of their shells.

Overall, this was an enemies-to-lovers story that I enjoyed the heck out of. This is a very transformative story that checks off all the boxes of the feels list. I am looking forward to more stories from this author!

An enemies to lovers romance between a sassy photographer who’s determined to make her soulmate (he has no idea) fall in love with her and an uptight lawyer who resists her every advance. The sexual tension will make you sweat! She’s going to break down his walls and he’s going to love it!

Their first meet up is a disaster. Ashley’s the photographer at Colton’s best friend’s wedding. Once she sees him, she just knows that he is “it” for her. Ashley is not at all shy about making her interest known, but Colton turns her down flat.

Fate and Ashley are not ready to give up on her soulmate, so when she finds herself in need of a good lawyer, she seeks out Colton. He has no qualms about being a jerk! He shuts her down. She’s no quitter, so doing her best to win him over is her newest plan. She’s persistent and will do whatever she needs to wear him down.

Colton is a hard nut to crack until he needs a favor in return. Ashley’s just been given the perfect opportunity to make him fall for her, so she jumps at the chance. The big, bad jerk is going to fall.

A sexy romance with a whole bunch of feels. Colton never wanted a family of his own, but then things changed. She became part of everything he never knew he wanted. Colton will transform from reluctant until he’s all in and it is swoon worthy! This man’s soft will make you melt. And the chemistry between them will sizzle. Their Happily Ever After is the sweetest.

Oh my sweet swoony romance loving heart. This book is EVERYTHING. EV.ER.Y.THING! I am in happiness overload right now after reading this. Full on bliss going on over here in my little bubble. Rebel Desire is a fun filled, sugar loaded, sweet read sprinkled with humor and overloaded with swoon. Enemies to lovers, perfect chemistry, a sassy heroine and more…what else could you ask for?
Colton is the most lovable uptight jerk ever. And Ashley is his complete opposite. Where he’s wound so tight he finds everything offensive, Ashley is a wild ray of sunshine filled with love. The sizzling chemistry between them defies everything Colton *thinks* he wants and that chemistry does not let up. When life throws a twist into his carefully arranged world it’s Ashley that’s there to be his rock. Seeing them grow closer and closer while navigating this new reality was pure magic. These two have a story with a lot of love, a lot of heart and the perfect amount of heat!

I literally grabbed this on KU as soon as I put down Rebel Soul. Not because I liked Colton but because I was so hooked on this author's writing style and I’m loving this series. And I devoured it in an afternoon. I am so thankful that this series is in KU, and I could just devour it without thought. Although you could absolutely read all of these as stand alones or in pretty much any order the only thing is there are semi spoilers with them being set at different times and the main characters being connected and making cameo appearances in each other’s books. But if you’re like me it won’t affect the story (mainly because give it a week and I will have forgotten their names (I am terrible with names))

Anyhow Colton started this book like the huge stick up his arse we already knew him to be. And he went above and beyond to make him unlikable. In fact if it wasn’t for how amazing and resilient Ash was I would have wanted him to get a junk punch and been left in the mud. Because man was, he an absolute acehole. Except for when it came to his son. But Ash, she was so awesome, and she was the absolute most caring and beautiful soul ever. I loved the way she absolutely trusted her instincts and led with her heart, even when I wanted her to be swept off her feet by someone who would worship her and fight for her from the moment, he laid eyes on her.

Luckily for Colton, Ash wasn’t perturbed by him in the least as she fell madly in love with his adorable son. Also, luckily for Colt when he finally removed the earlier mentioned stick he gave great boyfriend. And even luckier this was written in dual point of view so even when he was being a jerk, we got some insight into him and it made it him a little more human and forgivable for his actions.

Unfortunately for me I just got a teaser for Best Laid Plans and now I have another book on my TBR I can’t wait to read. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to finally read this authors books despite having half of them on my TBR mountain. But I can’t be upset because now I have so many awesome reads to look forward to.

4.5 Stars!

Rebel Desire is the perfect opposites attract romance with heart-warming and sweet moments and show that your family doesn’t have to be blood.

Colton, West from Rebel Soul’s lawyer best friend, is uptight and serious, living a bachelor lifestyle and working hard. When he meets the purple haired wedding photographer at West and Stacia’s wedding, the woman who has been making eyes at him all night, all he can think is how unprofessional she is and calls her out on it. Ashley is one of the highest ranked wedding photographers around. At a client’s event, she sees Colton, the best man, and believing in fate, instantly knows he’s her soul mate. So, when the first words they exchange are harsh and cruel, she knows it’s going to take some work to convince him they are meant to be. When an angry bride starts posting hate on Ashley’s social media, who should be recommended to her for legal help but Colton, who is reluctant at first to help out the woman who has been on his mind since the wedding. She begins to break down his defences, but when an unexpected arrival appears on his doorstep, in the form of his 5-year-old son Cruz, there’s nothing to stop Ashley from infiltrating his life completely. Ashley and Cruz form a strong bond instantly, creating more obstacles for Ashley to overcome as Colton doesn’t want to hurt Cruz by taking the next step with Ashley. But she’s not willing to give up without a fight, especially knowing that there’s a lot more at stake now than there was before. She’s willing to do whatever it takes to prove to Colton that they are soulmates and can be a proper family, but will it be enough?

This book had all the feels, hurt, happiness, love and steam, but ultimately hope. I fell for every character and I was rooting for Colton and Ashley all the way through. Their chemistry was clear all the way through, and the slow burn between them made it all the more explosive when they gave in. Colton was a complete jerk at the start, with how he spoke to Ashley and pushed her away because he didn’t know how to deal with his attraction to her, convinced they would not be compatible. He’d been ready to give in when Cruz arrived and that sealed the deal really, he knew he couldn’t pursue anything because if it ended badly, it would hurt Cruz. When he realised, he could have both, and it would make Cruz even happier, wow did he change is tune and became such a swoon worthy hero, who loved Ashley hard. Ashley was such a quirky, sweet and compassionate woman, who opened her heart to both her boys. She knew early on that Colton was it for her, and she persevered to prove that to him too. She didn’t take his harsh words, not pushing him, but knowing he would come around to realising how they were meant to be. Her relationship with Cruz was so incredible, she connected with that little boy on a different level straight away and helped to make him feel safe and settled in Colton’s home. Cruz was a little cutie, the scene from his point of view made my heart hurt, but it showed why he was the way he was, but also showed his growth of his personality as he became more settled with his father. He could be a real five-year-old, and that was so sweet to read.

Having read the Rebel Soul, it was great to see Stacia and West in their HEA, and also the other characters from the series. West and Colton’s friendship was as hilarious as I remember but I also loved how Stacia adopted Ashley into the group, even before she was official with Colton. The cameos from other books by LK Farlow were also great, I love when books are all interconnected. But it's worth mentioning, although this is book 3 in the Rebel Love series, it can definitely be read as a standalone!

Overall, Rebel Desire had minimal angst and drama, there was no unnecessary miscommunication or conflict for the sake of conflict which is refreshing in romance. Once Colton had overcome his fear of losing Ashley if he gave in, he was all in, the same place Ashley had always been. The epilogue was beautiful, and I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

What happens when a sweet, cheerful free spirit meets a grumpy, stick in the mud? Sparks, definitely. But in Ashley and Colton's case, those sparks aren't such a good thing at first. Or at least, not until he takes his head out of his ass and realizes what an angel he's got right under his stuck in the air nose.

But it's not until Ashley wins over his newfound son, Cruz, that Colton realizes just how amazing she is. The only problem is that she's not just his son's new nanny/friend, she's his client, too, and he cannot cross that ethical line no matter how much his body wants him to. No matter that Ashley's determined to get him to see how good they could be together. But that determination can only withstand so much rejection before she realizes it's never going to happen, and decides to stick around only for Cruz and goes and find someone who knows just what a gem he's got.

This is an adorable enemies to lovers story. It's not too heavy on the enemies, but is heavy on the adorable because Cruz and Ashley are sweethearts and Cruz steals every scene he's in. Colton took a little too long to loosen up for my tastes, but he did redeem himself by being a fabulous dad. All in all, a fun, lighthearted read, good for lifting spirits in this heavy world we're living in these days.

When Ashley sees Colton Banks, the best man at a client's wedding that she is photographing, she immediately knows that he is her soul mate. Colton, on the other hand thinks she is unprofessional and is really downright rude. When Ashley has a problem with another client, she turns to Colton for legal help, at which point, he turns her down, again and again. Every day Ashley shows up trying to break down his walls, but every day he cruelly rejects her. But all that changes when Colton's ex turns up with a 5 year old child that is clearly his and then disappears leaving Cruz behind. The little boy doesn't talk and is clearly very afraid and Colton has to figure out how to look after this child. When Ashley shows up at his office the next day, trying to win him over as usual, she never expects to find a child there, especially not Colton's, but she has a bond with him that makes Colton's insides thaw, just a little. Is this what will break down those defenses? Ashley will use every trick in the book to get Colton to see the real her and show him that they are destined to be together. Love this book and love that some of the secondary characters come from 'The Best of Me', 'The Best Laid Plans" and "Rebel Soul", which are other L.K.Farlow books, feels like a comfy blanket on a chilly day.

Rebel Desire.... Oh the feels! I felt what the characters were feeling, I felt for them. The hurt, the happiness, the wanting, the love and the lust.

"Then again, meeting the—albeit, unknowing— love of your life and having him hate you on sight tends to put a damper on things. Story of my freaking life." - Ashley
Ashley knew from the moment her eyes landed on Colton that he was the one, her soulmate. Unfortunately, Colton can be an ass. Colton pushes Ashley away from the start but she never gives up. No only is she an amazing photographer, knows what or who she wants, but she is so kind and has enough love to share.

That love extends to a little boy who definitely needs and deserves all the love in the world. Cruz had his share of pain that no one, especially a 5yr old, should have to endure. My heart hurt for him but he is such a strong, sweet loving boy that can also put his dad in his place.
“It’s okay Daddy. I love her a whole bunch and my love can be enough for both of us until you’re ready to love her too.” - Cruz

Colton has had his struggles, which had mad him the man/lawyer that he is. Underneath the all the jerkiness, is a man that loves unconditionally and has a sweet side. It just takes a bit of incessant effort on a certain purple haired woman.
"If I wasn’t already half in love with her, I sure as hell am now. Her fierce protectiveness of Cruz tells me all I need to know. She’s a fucking keeper."

I loved everything about this book, how the characters interacted, the struggles, the chemistry and most of all how the story as a whole made me feel. Well done L.K. Farlow!!

Tears, Laughter and lots of shouty cap messages to the author is how I spent the evening sucked in this book and why it’s almost 3 am and I’m laying here so sad it’s over.

I love Ashley’s quirkiness! She is a strong and passionate woman about her job and the people in her life. A mama bear from the beginning.

* This man makes me want to commit felonies—you know, like murder. I wonder, since he’s my soulmate, could it be classed as a crime of passion?*

Colton Banks is a man of many layers. Hard on. The outside, a crazy sweet tooth and stubborn as hell. But when those layers begin to peel, holy crap talk about ALL THE FREAKING FEELS! But don’t worry, this broody lawyer will have you shouting *newsflash asshole* plenty of time.

Ashley and Cruz fill the pieces Colton never knew were missing.

Not only is colton about to sweep you off your feet, so is his son.

* Ashley…she has a fire to her and as much I keep fighting it, I kind of like the burn.*

What a cute book. This book had it all. Enemies to lovers, surprise single dad, steamy romance... the connection that Ashley made with Cruz right away melted my heart. She was just so good for him knowing what to say and do to make this adorable little boy feel loved.

Colton was so moody from the beginning but being able to be inside of his head, you could tell right away that Ashely for under his skin, and in a good way!

I enjoyed watching the relationships grow in this story, along with the few cameos and mentions of other stories by Farlow. That doesn’t mean you have to read the others to read this one, but I recommend all of her other books regardless!

There wasn’t much angst in the book which was nice with everything going on in the world. It made me feel happy the entire way through - start to finish!

Take a leap into this book about a purple haired beauty and her single/dad soulmate.

Rebel Desire by LK Farlow was such a sweet fun read with an unexpected twist that made it that much better, plus a sexy single dad!

The Rebel Love series has been one of my favorites from Farlow and getting a bit of a crossover with Best Laid Plans and crew! That just made me so excited because it gave me a closeness to even more characters if that makes sense, I was like OH HEY!! I know them too!

Our hero may be a single dad but what's even better was that he didn't know he had a son and I think that makes a single dad romance so much better, it's like a surprise pregnancy role reversal lol. I get the same unexpectedness but on a completely different lever.

He just fell instantly for his son and the way that his son instantly connected with Ashley and trusted her, that bond was just beautiful and it brought tears to my eyes! I also loved the tenacity of Ashley, she never gave and always went after what she wanted.

Colton may have thought that he could shake Ashley but the more he fought it the more his attraction grew. Rebel Desire is one opposites attract romance that you don't want to miss!

In my opinion, this one's definitely better than Rebel Soul.

Colton, a jaded guy, even though I don't know why is he so jaded, that wasn't really explained in the book. He is so hot and cold with Ashley, he said she’s not his type and not interested in her. But he acts differently whenever he's close with her. And I got frustrated when he push her away every single time. But when he discovered, he has a son and left alone to care for Cruz, he find himself depending on Ashley more. Whenever I read how he feels towards his son, my heart just burst and flutters for them. That makes me fall in love more with Colton, I guess that redeems his initial behaviour towards Ashley.

Cruz’s, Colton's son, first POV got me choked up because you rarely have a child’s pov in a book. How his mother brought him up was a real mess. He’s so innocent and naive that you just want to hug him real tight. And that's exactly what Ashley do. I fell in love with how Ashley and Cruz develop their relationship. They're so sweet and cute together.

LK Farlow has written a beautifully sweet Rom Com that will leave you with a perpetual smile on your face. Colton and Ashley couldn’t be more opposite, but they are utterly perfect for each other. This is just the story that is needed right now, it will without a doubt leave your heart happy.

“You’re exhibiting stalker-like tendencies. Have you considered talking to a professional?”
Much to my surprise, she laughs. “Oh yes, I see a therapist at least once a month.”
“Then maybe up it to bi-monthly.”

When you first met Colton in previous books he always came across as a huge ass and he’s not any different in this one LOL. When he first meet’s Ashley it’s at his best friend’s wedding and needless to say it’s a rocky introduction. I loved Colton’s brash personality and that he has this wall in place, this made it so much sweeter when Ashley slowly breaks it down one bit at a time.

My soulmate just told me we aren’t compatible. Just going to file that sickening feeling away in a folder labeled: Things that hurt worse than dropping a bowling ball on your foot.

I loved Ashley she’s this quirky photographer that believes in Soulmates and love at first sight. Yes, she is a little much and is very determined when she puts her mind to something. But it’s all those quirks that have you falling for this girl. She is beyond sweet and has the absolute biggest heart which you see consistently especially when Cruz is in the picture. Her love for that boy outweighs all others and it’s that acceptance of him without a second thought that shows you how good of person she is.

I pinch my eyes shut and curl my fingers into fists. The need to touch, to taste, to ravage her is overwhelming.

Cruz just about tore my heart to shreds. What this poor boy had to live through was enough to make this mamas heart bleed out. All I wanted to do was wrap this beautiful soul up and keep him safe and warm. The immediate connection between Cruz and Colton made my heart weep. The situation could have gone any number of ways. But Colton steps up without a thought and does everything that he can for this boy. This makes you fall a little bit more in love with Colton.

But Ashley…she has a fire to her and as much as I keep fighting it, I kind of like the burn.

This book is the perfect lightweight read. Even with Colton’s prickly behavior you can’t help but love him and his journey with Ashley. LK has created Rom Com gold with this one that is sure to leave you just a little bit lighter than when you started. If you love low angst with a grumpy hero and a quirky heroine than this book is for you.

I’m not going to lie but I didn’t like Colton for a good half of his book, and I wasn’t happy that Ashley kept her faith going when it came to him. He was rude and abrasive, and I wasn’t sure he could be redeemed. Ashley honey I wanted you to grow a backbone and say hey don’t talk to me that way. Yet redemption happened and I guess it was good that Ashley kept the faith enough for both until he was ready. Also why did I continuously read his name as Carlton Banks?

Ashley is a spitfire with lavender hair and an eye for photography. She first meets Colton at a wedding she is photographing for a friend. It didn’t go so well but she was determined. When a jilted client sets out to sabotage her business, she enlists the help of Colton who is an attorney. He shuts her down, but she is persistent. She knows he is the one for her and she will make him see it. Colton is a no-nonsense guy his whole day is planned down to the minute. He has no time for romantic entanglements especially with someone like Ashley. When she waltzes into his office unannounced he knows he is in for a heck of a ride but Ashley won’t be the only disruption to his perfectly crafted life.

Like I said I was meh on Colton but toward the end when he got his head out his butt he did a good job. I could see why she could love him. I liked that Ashley was unapologetically herself. We also get to see some characters from books past along with new ones. Rebel Desire is another small town romance packed with frustration and humor and sexy times in the L.K. Farlow style we all love.

ENEMIES TO LOVERS TYPE? I'M WAY ON BOARD....EXCEPT ONE PART OF THE STORY TOTALLY HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS, AND I WONDER WHAT THE STORY WILL BE LIKE WITHOUT THAT PARTICULAR SURPRISE BOMB.

COLTON'S a professional lawyer who is good at his job, and he's also a man with his own standards and expectations. He can be straight-laced and with a stick up his ass, but also a mixture of a beta male. Not the usual alpha, caveman kind that I usually go for. Colton's not impressed with Ashley from the moment she voiced her attraction, and he rejects her advances and also refuses to help her as a client. But, he does a 360 turnabout when a surprising gift from his past pops back into his life. Yes, you got it right....what kind of surprise from the past can a man usually get? A baby, duh! In his case, he's got a kid son. I was actually quite into the story and the fireworks between him and Ashley when Cruz came into the picture. Don't get me wrong, Cruz was a cute kid and all but I just felt that the chemistry and the romance faded into the background when it's mostly about taking care of Cruz, Cruz and then Cruz.

ASHLEY is a bubbly chick. Maybe a little ditzy but she's great at her job too, being a professional photographer who captures great moments. And that's how she met Colton - at his friend's wedding. Ashley doesn't hesitate to hit on Colton but unfortunately he finds her completely uncouth and not the kind of woman he'd go for. Ashley's persistence was cute and funny. I definitely didn't think much of her at first but I quite liked her in the end. She's good with kids, she's carefree and not the kind to take things too seriously. She's basically good for someone like Colton.

OVERALL this was okay, because like I said the romance just faded into the background and it wasn't as intense as I prefer. But, it's still LOL funny and hits more close to typical romantic comedies if you enjoy those.

L.K. Farlow is one of my go to authors. The way she can have two characters come together is something unexplainable. It goes without saying her stories slay me, but in the best way. Ashley and Colton's story sucked me in from start to finish. I loved the enemies to lovers aspect, but the transition from enemies to lovers to something else, is what set this book apart from all the others. Considering the circumstances, Ashley and Colton's story was a light hearted read that had an abundance of witty dialogue and banter. It kept an amazing kind of energy that still has my heart singing. Farlow developed Ashley and Colton's story with enough depth to make the push and pull fantastic. I adored the addition to their story; that POV hit where it needed to. I was a big fan of how this author had these characters follow their hearts no matter what was thrown at them. It made Ashley and Colton's connection burn even brighter.

Ashley. FANTASTIC NAME! Lol. She was awesome. Quirky and eccentric in the best way. This photographer can capture a memory with a click of a shutter. She connects with people easily, and is not afraid to go after what her heart desires.

Colton. He is one that doesn't typically veer of path, and prefers his life be kept in order. He comes off as rude and condescending, but through out the entirety of Rebel Desire his true colors shine.

What happens when life throws a curveball at both Ashley and Colton?

* I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK

Genre/Tropes: Contemporary, Single Dad
POV: 1st, Dual
Series: Rebel Love, Book 3
STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥

Colton Banks did not let me down with his grumpy, uptight attitude and yea, I ended up loving it. But for me, Ashley Murphy, the purple-haired wedding photographer stole the show. She was quirky, sweet, compassionate, fiery, and just the complete opposite of Colton.

When 5 year old Cruz enters the picture, my heart ached for that little boy but his innocence and trust in Ashley from the beginning made Colton realize his aversion to Ashley was not actually what he was feeling. I feel like he led her along a few times, seeing as this was slowish burn, but Ashley had a solid core and despite the pain he inadvertently put her through, she was strong enough to hold on until he came around.

This one was definitely more Angsty. I felt like I needed MORE relationship between Colton and Ashley, but I absolutely adored the epilogue so I can’t complain. Their romance was unconventional and I don’t think any amount of “extra” would ever erase their rocky start. And really, from personal experience, a happily ever after isn’t always a one stop trip, so I appreciated the realness of this love story.

This whole series just makes me swoon. I loved catching up with everyone and I now have to hunt down the other stories that seem interconnected with this one.

When Ashley's business is at risk from the online slamming of an unsatisfied client, she turns to Colton for legal help. Unfortunately for her she tried to hit on him at her last job as a wedding photographer and he took a dislike to her because of this.

I have never taken such an immediate dislike to a character as I did with Colton to start with. He was arrogant and disrespectful towards Ashley without understanding anything about her. It would take something special to turn around these feelings but LK Farlow managed to do this and made me fall in love with him. Ashley's persistence in trying to get him to change his mind really helped but the fact that he was suddenly left in charge of a son he never knew he had, softened him. It brings out a vulnerability that makes him more human and the way he is with Cruz is endearing and incredibly sexy. Ashley is so open, loving and accepting of Cruz that she helps Colton accept his new role of father with ease.

I loved how this story unfolded and the way the characters evolved. Once I started I could not put it down until I had finished it. Fabulous read!

This. Book. Is. Amazing. The tension, the banter, the characters, the story, everything. I completely DEVOURED this story, I knew the moment I picked it up I wouldn’t be able to stop.

I LOVE Ashley. She is a sassy, caring and you can’t help but just love her. Colton is uptight and pretty much a jerk and you kind of want to hate him from the start. These two are complete opposites but I LOVE their chemistry and their banter was hilarious. He pushes her away and yet, Ashley isn’t one to give up and keeps on fighting. When life throws a curveball in Colton’s life, Ashley is the one who is there from the start and really helps him out.

I loved getting to see a whole different side to Colton. He isn’t completely uptight and a jerk, he does have a softer and sweeter side. Of course, over time the chemistry only grew stronger and temptation can only be ignored for so long. Plus, Daddy Colton is H.O.T. Seriously, you’ll swoon over these guys hardcore.

L.K. Farlow wrote a beautiful story with Rebel Desire. If (surprise) single dad rom coms are your jam this one is a MUST READ!
