Dani Collins has pulled this reunion story off with a bang, this one is filled with sensual emotion as Rebecca Matthews and Donavan Scott spend a night snowbound at what was their home in Canada, it should not have ended the way it did with chemistry so strong it could have set the fireworks off.

Becca has arrived at what was her home to find something special to her, before the divorce is final on a marriage that she feels was a mistake, oh there was always a spark between them but did they ever really talk and work things out? Van seemed to need to be off training on the ski slopes and running away and Becca felt that is was time to end it all and she needed to be in Australia.

Van wants to see Becca one last time before things end and arrives at the house where they get snowed in but this time he wants to talk and work things out, you see loving has always been hard for Van, his family did love in other ways or not at all. The spark and pull between them is still there but it is also time now for honesty and opening up, no matter how hard that is for Van.

I loved this story the emotions run high as Becca and Van finally open up to each other in the way they should have years before, their love explodes in a night of sensual passion and feelings that finally bring them together. This is a beautifully written and told story that is perfect for any romance reader who wants to be swept away in a winter wonderland of HEA’s. This is one that I would highly recommend, Dani Collins is a must read author.

My thanks to the author for my digital copy to read and review.

Was just okay.

A very safe read, no OW OM drama, both of them were celibate during their 4-year separation.

The whole situation could have been avoided if there was more communication (as is usual). The Hero was very busy with his skying career, and since he was gunning for a gold medal, and his family had conditioned the heroine to never bother him with any problems since he might lose his focus, they fail to communicate about a lot of things.

Anyway they get stuck in their cabin during a New Years snow storm, the heroine had returned to look for something she left behind, and when the Hero finds out, he follows. During the course of 2 days they finally manage to discuss what happened to them and have a lot of sex. HEA

So yes, it was a straightforward okay read.

This is a Second Chance Romance. Becca and Van was the main characters in this book, and I really enjoyed getting to know these characters. There was some hot and steamy times in this book. There was also some cute and sweet times. I loved the ending of this book. This was a short and fast read, but I felt there was so much put into so little pages. This was a very enjoyable read. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Presents) or author (Dani Collins) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

A highly emotional reconnection! Dani Collins is bringing the feels with ONE SNOWBOUND NEW YEAR'S NIGHT and I loved every single minute of it. The characters were quick to wed and quick to fall apart and now on the verge of divorce after years of separation, one snowbound night will decide the fate of the attraction they both still feel for each other.

Becca is sweet and sincere and seeing her admit her weaknesses is powerful.

Van is successful and accomplished, but as the story rolls out it's apparent he was fairly clueless in how to appreciate the wife he lucked into and show her what was in his heart. He was redeemed really well though.

I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a reunion of spouses who are on the verge of divorce. This story took place over the course of not much more than a day or so for the majority of it, but there was a lot of remembering back that flowed nicely.

Considering they are snowbound and there are no other secondary characters and the plot is seemingly straightforward reunion after 4 years of separation, the characters are complex and even the secondary characters that make it into their conversations and expositions from their perspective make for an interesting read.

This was my first Harlequin Presents that I have read in quite awhile. It was a good choice. It was enjoyable and easy to read. It was emotional and sexy. Though this wasn’t my favorite Harlequin Presents or Dani Collins book, it was nice story to get back into Presents again.

I liked that this was a marriage trouble with both Becca and Van being stuck together in a snowstorm where they had to confront issues that surrounded their marriage. What I found very refreshing was the fact that it was very clear that they loved each other even after four years of being separated.

I think what impressed me the most though was the showing of how much Van loved her. It was apparent even if she was blind to it. The hurt he had over her leaving him was utterly devastating. His pain was very raw and stark. She didn’t even know even during their marriage of his feelings for her. He was willing to move to another country just so she could be by his side. He was willing to put in work to make their marriage work. He was desperate but she was blind to to it, which caused a lot of pain the process. The fact carried her locket in his pocket with him all that time was huge. I loved that so much. Of course she didn’t know that, but it spoke volumes of his feelings for her.

I loved the grand gesture at the end with locket. It just warmed my heart so much. It symbolized his love and their love perfectly. It was so sweet and romantic. It was just one of those gesture that sealed their romance beautifully. It proved how real their love truly was. I believed it.

The sexy scenes between them were very hot, but also very emotional. It was more about the reconnection than just a physical release. It filled the missing piece that had been empty for both of them all these years. There was plenty of intimacy and affection in those moments that they both needed and craved. It was intense, which made it all the more satisfying in the end. It was so special. I loved their New Year’s Eve date night. It was very romantic and very sexy as they made love together. The pool scene was great as well that brought great foreplay as well as a sexy scene.

I did like all the communication in this one. Things that should have been said a long time ago in their marriage. It was hard conversations that were filled with a lot of raw feelings. It did bring them closer together. I did feel like her secret got drawn out bit. I wish she talked to him sooner about things, but at least by the end things got said.

Overall, this was a solid Harlequin Presents featuring the marriage in trouble trope. It got very real once they were trapped together that night. They communicated along with romantic and sexy times. This showed love, but with misunderstandings and no communication then love couldn’t really bloom or thrive. It was just a story of two meant souks coming together again and getting their HEA. It was beautiful and sad because they could have had it if they communicated sooner. It all turned out well in the end.

Ugh, Goodreads needs to let readers use the half star rating method!! Someone start a change.org for this 😂

I have read only a handful of Harlequin Present novels and this being a New Year’s themed one, I had to read it to jump start my 2023z I really liked the story and the characters in this book. The author had a difficult task of making the reader care about these characters who you only get to know over a 24 hour period. Becca was an absolute sweetheart and I really loved her sassy but vulnerable vibe. Van is super likeable as well, but kinda falls into the “too good to be true” hero - hot, loaded and lusting after Becca. They fall into the typical trap of not communicating, hence why their divorce will be finalized after New Years.
I’m Canadian and I really loved that this book was set in Whistler, BC. I loved reading about this lake house and the snowstorm scenery. The only thing missing was a flashback scene featuring poutine! The main complaint I have about this book is that the hero is a gold winning skiier, but the type of event he specializes in is never mentioned (unless did I miss it?). The heat level is pretty spicy so don’t read if you don’t like some graphic descriptions with your lovemaking scenes.
Overall, a well-written spicy romance for those who love a good “stranded in a gorgeous house with my super hot soon to be ex husband and we have amazing sex during a snowstorm” trope.

One Snowbound New Year's Night by Dani Collins is the absolute definition of what I adore about reunion stories.

Rebecca knows it’s time to finalise her divorce but she’s desperate to locate her little golden locket. Worthless dollars wise the locket has invaluable sentimental value. Knowing that his ex-wife is about to visit their home, Donovan Scott absolutely busts his all to arrive there too. Snowed in and unable to leave Becca and Van are forced to dissect their marriage and find closure.

It is so clear that Becca and Van love each other. This shines through in Dani Collins incredible ability to drum up emotion and angst. I love her style of writing for this reason. As each page turned, I was happy, sad, I’m sure I teared up at points and I absolutely 100% was on their side the whole way through. The dinner scene was heart-breaking. I could feel Van lose control. I could feel Becca’s heart cracking. As Becca’s reasons to leave the marriage slowly started being revealed and family dramas were being unpacked, along with lots of misunderstandings aired, Becca and Van also face their attraction which blew the book right up into scorching flames!

One Snowbound New Year’s Night was picture perfect in my mind. It ran like a beautiful white- Christmas movie. I give this story 5 stars because there is not one thing I would change. And if an author can write an entire book set in 24 hours which left me feeling no less satisfied than a story spread over a longer time period, I think that’s skill which deserves a huge high five! The conclusion was edge of seat material and the epilogue was beautiful.

I will be reading this one again!

Rebecca Mathews goes to find a missing pendent after being separated from Donovan Scott. After all this was the last opportunity before their divorce was final.
But getting snowbound with her estranged husband was getting to be a problem as the scorching chemistry between them flared. What would happen now? Could she give in to the passion between them?

ONE SNOWBOUND NEW YEAR’S NIGHT is a sexy yet emotional romance. Author Dani Collins brought this story to live on the pages with stunning setting and diverse emotions on each page. This book is a pure joy to read.
Despite its darker moments of pain and grief, the overall message is one of unwavering love, hope and inspiration. A touching story full of humor and compassion.

Good story! I don’t know why I liked that he was an former Olympian athlete!. But I did! I know that been an Olympic athlete is one of the top athlete, and it takes hard work, dedication, discipline to get there. Better than the billionaire H’s that inherited their wealth.

Liam is what gives this book the fourth star. Other than that, it's pretty interesting story about a husband and wife who are estranged (no idea why it took four years, but whatever) and are finally forced to sit and talk when they get snowed in on New Years Eve. I liked the characters, but the epilogue makes it even more special.

4.5 stars

Dani Collins is an author who never disappoints me. I've only read a small fraction of her books but each one has truly hooked me. She manages to make you care about the characters. Not only are their hearts on the line, but so is yours.

One Snowbound New Year's Night is the second chance love story of Rebecca "Becca" Matthews and Donovan "Van" Scott. The two had a whirlwind romance and married five years ago. Unfortunately, the two have not seen each other and have been separated for four years. After recently filing for divorce, Becca flies from Sydney, Australia to Whistler, Canada, to retrieve something valuable to her. She chooses to return to the home she and Van once shared on New Year's Eve, thinking Van would be with his family and not at the house. She could not have been more wrong. Van has recently found out something about Becca and he wants clarification. More importantly, he wants answers as to why Becca thought so little of their marriage and could throw it all away so easily.

Jet lag and emotional exhaustion kick in and Becca unexpectedly falls asleep in the bed she and Van once shared. She's startled awake by Van's presence and the stark realization that she's still attracted to him. Van is equally still attracted to Becca and it isn't long before they act on that attraction. Over the next several hours, the cycle of bitterness, unspoken truths, emotional confessions, lust, and passion play out on repeat. You get to know the characters through their memories and present self. Dani takes Becca, Van, and readers on an emotional roller coaster. I was exhausted, so I know the characters were. She really made these two open themselves up and be honest with themselves and each other. She showed that the foundation of a good marriage is communication first and foremost.

Dani might have shattered me with the story of One Snowbound New Year's Night, but she brought tears to my eyes with the epilogue. This is one story not to be missed.

Kocham!!! ❤

I usually adore this author’s books but this one totally disappointed me. I disliked the heroine Becca and was frustrated by the fact that a simple honest conversation between her and Donovan could have sorted out their problems much earlier. I hate it when miscommunication is the major conflict in a romance - especially one which lasts over 4 years.

I’m also getting increasingly fed up with stories which have infertility as a trope. I know it happens in the real world but I don’t read Mills and Boon for too much real life angst - I read for enjoyable escapism.

This won’t stop me reading Dani Collins - but this was not for me.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Romance/Harlequin Presents for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I usually love anything by Dani Collins, but this one fell short for me. I found Becca to be annoying with her insecurities and lack of trust. I felt bad for her but come on-be honest with your spouse. So for me this was just ok. 3 stars This will not stop me from reading other books by this author. I am sure many will enjoy this book.

This book was a complete miss for me. The worst book from HP I've ever read. I don't mind Dani Collins as an author, and normally I like "second chance" stories. But this book I nearly DNF'd, early and often. I think I read 3 other books and got some other "structured procrastination" done while taking breaks from this one.

The FMC, Becca, is a "poor little poor girl", and the MMC, Van, is a "poor little rich guy." Both play the victims. Both have their flaws, but Van is set up to be the "good guy." The guy who move mountains, support anything, adapt to any obstacle--he's just spread thin with having to play the hero for too many people.

I really had a hard time with Becca, who stubbornly and repeatedly sabotages her own life, but doesn't take responsibility for it. She's constantly moving the goal posts. She ultimately left Van for *secret reasons* (revealed to the reader but not to Van). But when they're reunited, she's like, "If only he wanted to reconcile." Then he does want to reconcile, but she refuses...not because of the big secret that motivated her in the first place, but because he didn't ask her right, because of something he said to his mother, because he never said the word "love", etc.

She's also kind of brutal to him. "I married you for immigration," she tells him. After sex, she calls it "one for the road." The way she abruptly left him. At one point, Van thinks to himself "she's matured", while I was simultaneously thinking about how juvenile she was acting. She just doesn't seem capable of a healthy, adult relationship.

This is one of those couples that really seem to only have sexual chemistry going for them, and you're not really happy that they reconcile at the end, because they don't have a healthy relationship. (Yes, while stuck together, they *finally* get the lies and secrets out in the open, but doesn't solve the bigger issues.)

So glad I have this book behind me. Should have DNF'd it.

Donovan Scott, Van as he likes to be called is an accomplished athlete who has won gold. Now he is running a business since he’s retired.Rebecca Matthews is the one who caught his eye. She’s smart, beautiful, kindhearted and loving. They fell for each other and got married even quicker. Now they are getting a divorce. Becca went to Canada to find a necklace that she left behind at their home. It was a present from her mother. Now that her mother is gone she wants it. Van also went home to Canada where he sees her sleeping in their bed. He can’t understand why she left him. What was the reason? Will she tell him that she can’t have children? She’s heartbroken and feels that she’s not good enough for him. She doesn’t want his money, home, clothes or expensive jewelry. All she wanted was his love. They are snowed in for at least twenty four hours. Will they finally talk it out? Will Van realize that he did neglect her in many ways. The chemistry was never their problem. Will he realize that she needs more? Will she tell him about what the doctor said? Will he reject her? She was devastated. Will she have her heart broken again?’Will they divorce or try again? He only has the night to convince her to stay.

I had to read this for an assignment about gender science and it was horrible, horrible, horrible. Too bad I have to end this year with this review, but the author was like “let’s take all the stereotypes that exist in this world an concoct it into one single book”. I mean come on, how the f* can a woman be SUPER THIN and CURVY at the same time? How? Naturally? The book really does the job for all the sick body ideals that try to slither their way into every poor young girl’s brain. Ew. That’s all. Just ew.

Becca and Van married quickly and unfortunately it fell apart just as quickly. So much misunderstanding and Van had no idea how to be a husband that Becca needed. The only thing to do is end it. planning a divorce Becca confronts Van and I guess the powers to be decided, if they are snowed in and have to spend this final time together, they may figure what went wrong. I enjoyed that it was just the two of them resolving their problems and as always Ms. Collins gives a wonderful story.

One Snowbound New Year’s Night by Dani Collin – Becca decides it’s time to finalise her and Van’s divorce so she can move on and make a life for herself. She returns to their home to retrieve a necklace given to her by her late mother. Van shows up unexpectedly and has other ideas. Becca is convinced that he will not want her given she can not give him the one thing he wants. A great read.

This is one cute story that really packs a punch. Author did a great job summarizing what led up to being snowed in for these two. Becca and Van were great! Just enough heat to make getting back together a great idea. Five stars for me!
