Chaotic short

A little short about Ross's clan members misunderstanding of what LARPing is. Just pure chaos goes on in this one and Ross is the one to come clean up the mess.

Excellent!

Love, love this series. It's so funny and has been an absolute joy to read from the beginning. It's well named, The Trials and Tribulations of Ross... the situations he has to sort out are mind boggling. A crazy and fun read.

Short and sweet

I love Ross enough to overlook the lack of pages. Just give me a whole series with this group with dual pov please??

Ross deserves a medal

Ross totally deserves a medal for dealing with the chaos that is his clan. OmG seriously?! My favorite line.. "They are your children, not mine!" I laughed so hard!! I adore these snippets into life as a Supernat PA

Always fun

Always good for a fun read, this pop up story does not disappoint! Ross may be settled in as a vampire and husband to the head of the clan, but the clan still requires wrangling some days. A Larping adventure leads to just that and the hilarity ensues. Great fun short from the world of Ross Young!

Funny and short, but...this one didn't completely do it for me. Maybe if there had been more conversations with Ross (or Glenn, I would have take those) and the drunken clan-members? Maybe I just need to keep my expectations low for more Ross Young shorts from now on. (Advice I'm pretty sure I won't take for the Ross Young/Trifecta crossover short, but that's life!)

Another laugh out loud short story from Ross’s supernatural universe. A quick read which I absolutely had fun reading.

Honestly I loved the story the reason for the lower rating is strictly due to the lack of story overall. I bought this immediately since this author is a favorite it was very short with zero sexy time or any real time between the MC of the series at all. Just felt lacking

Fine. Not up to the level of the original series, sadly.

4.25 stars- fun follow up story

The Tribulations of Ross Young, Supernat PA: Additional Incident LARPing is a short story that takes readers back to the fun world this author has created mixing fantasy worlds. I love the idea of mixing multiple supernatural species in today’s world and detailing all the trouble that ensues. As any reader of the previous incidents in the Ross Young can attest to, every story promises good characters, fun, and unexpected moments you just have to laugh over. Honestly, you only need to read this title to know you are in for a good time.

As I read the other incidents as a complete set, this incident felt like an especially quick trip back to this silly world, but I very much welcomed it. I love the lightness and fast pace of these stories. As always, Ross is there to help out his fellow clan members try to make sense of the human world and keep their interactions within this world somewhat controlled, all while offering a semi-plausible explanation to any bystanders. Of course, this is done with Ross’s dry sense of humor and running commentary about the events—which is always good for a laugh.

It’s so fun to see characters I’ve enjoyed resurface in whatever way I can get some more time with them. Though I’ve only recently read this full collection, I hope these little stories continue to come out in the future to add some much-needed fun and humor to my day.

Signals crossed

Ross first noticed the silence of his clan. That was suspicious. His "kids" were noisy. His minion, Bobo, when asked mentioned a battle. An old fashioned battle? Oh no. The clann had heard about a LARPing event and thought it was a proper battle. And they invited their new friends in the other clans to come "play". Werewolves, vampires, wizards and dwarf mead...in a herd of unsuspecting humans. *shudder*

Spoilers ahead.
This is a slice of life story and oh poor Ross. The clan is so excited to get out and play. But humans with sticks and foam swords are no match for real supernaturals ready for a melee. Maybe this means a community arena could be built? Something the clans' wizards could ward so everyone can have fun fights with their new friends without destroying the building and scaring the humans? Can you imagine the supes having a bake sale to fund it?

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.5 stars

This short story follows up on the delightful adventures of Ross Young in The Tribulations of Ross Young, Supernat PA. The original novel was put together from a series of short stories featuring Ross and his unruly clan, and this short picks up with a new adventure for him. So if you have read the main book, this story essentially reads like one of the individual shorts that make up that novel. I think new readers could enjoy this one, but the full book is so much fun and I think you will get more out of this story if you have read about some of Ross’ past adventures.

Ross stopped mixing up his cookie dough and peered suspiciously out the window. There was no movement outside aside from his half-orc minion, Bobo, who was working in the front yard.
Let's give a general do-we-give-a-fuck check.
Hmm, seemed he did.

I felt this in the Complete Works as well - Ross is my spirit animal. He loves wine, coffee. Naps. Silence. Except for when the silence is unusual. Because that means trouble.

^^ Life of a nurse, ladies and gentlemen.

Cleanup took hours.

Also reminiscent of my chosen profession.

Jokes aside, this was a fun later short featuring some of our favorites! Of course the clan doesn't know that LARP-ing is a game. Of course the wolves sent out a public invite. Of course the dwarves brought the mead.

Funny short story

Rating: 3.5🌈

This is a short cute story that takes place 2 years after the end of the first collection. Ross is happily married and officially part of the Clan.

The plot is entertaining because honestly how many humans understand what LARPing is? Let alone the many species of the supernatural? Then throw in dwarven mead… and well, there’s the story.

Cute, no background for those unfamiliar with Ross and gang. But I did think it was pretty funny.

Read it because you loved the first one and universe.

The Tribulations of Ross Young, Supernat PA: Additional Incident LARPing by AJ Sherwood is the next instalment, aka extended epilogue.
Seven years after the previous book was left off, Ross is a 28 year old now, just graduated with his degree, happily married to Glenn and now that:
The clan goes LARPing.
Do they understand it’s a game? No.
Does Ross regret all life decisions? Yes.
LARPing is now on Ross's sh list.

It’s All About Rollicking Good Fun.

It’s all about rollicking good fun or that’s what Ross’s stepdad meant it to be about. Unfortunately the supernatural clans don’t understand that LARPing is only a game. It’s not a real battle. Then Dwarf Mead got added to the mix of human role playing, Supernats who think the fighting for real and Ross who realises it is all a disaster waiting to happen. Make that a disaster that has already started to happen. One thing for sure it is rollicking good read.

"So who all had drunk a disastrous cup?" ;)

I love this little book as much as the original! Ross and Master Vampire Glenn continue to corral their misfit collection of supernaturals. I respect all these characters who live their life as fully as possible and grasp at happiness, even if that involves battle axes and dwarven mead. If you like this book you may also like "Josh Of The Damned" by Andrea Speed. Convenience store clerks have the hardest and potentially strangest jobs in the universe, if you ask me. Be sure to check out the previous book in this series! 🔥

I'll always love the stories of Ross and Glenn's clan and this one didn't disappoint.
Poor Ross finds out his clan mistakenly has gone to a LARPing event thinking they were going to get to have a good ol fashion brawl. Of course Ross is to the rescue so their whole world isn't exposed and humans aren't harmed. I always love seeing these snapshots of what the clan is getting up to, and seeing how in love Ross and Glenn continue to be. Overall a sweet story and hopefully there will be more down the road.

Poor Ross

I can’t read anything involving this clan and Ross without laughing my fool head off. This long suffering PA is in for a lifetime of dealing with his clan’s shenanigans and I just hope he keeps feeding AJ Sherwood tidbits of their exploits to write. I would love to hear what some of the humans thought of this epic LARPing battle…if they can remember it since dwarven meade was involved.

LARPing and Dwarven mead

Oh, Ross ... Just when you think you've seen it all, that quirky clan of yours has to come up with a new one! I loved the idea of all those supes in a role-playing game, thinking it was real. Seriously, Ross and Glenn should organize something like that just for the clans - but without real bloodshed ... or Dwarven mead! I can't wait for for adventures with this hilarious group!

I did not enjoy this one at all. I gave it 1.5 stars in my personal ratings. I rounded up here being unsure how much of it was "just me".

I read these originally after most of them were bundled, and I enjoyed it from what I remembered.

But this one, out on its own, felt too short, too silly, and was not engaging.

If you enjoy shorts and super silly you may like it. If you don't want a quick story that reads like a supernatural frat party, then I suggest avoiding. I will probably not read on, or at least not until the following vignettes (if any) are bundled once again.

Short but delightful...

Of course I loved the one previous to this, but this was a nice little bonbon after the fact that was sweet and funny and full of the characters I've been missing since the first one. Granted, this one is incredibly short, but it's worth it for the content that is hilarious. If you've read the first one and liked it, you will like this one. If you haven't read the first one, why not? Get this one, too, because you're going to be back for it. ;)

Well that was something

What happens when a bunch of supernatural show up to a LARP not actually knowing what a LARP is and mix in dwarven mead? Ross has entered a new level of chaos that you can't help but send sympathy his way and hope for the best. Good luck containing this utter and amazing chaos! Needless to add loved every minute and hope AJ keeps providing us with more Ross Young Tribulations!

Ross has the best patience!

I loved this short oh so much!

Challenging the great Ross was en Pointe. He's used to it, but when there's more than one clan involved, and the leader is not answering the phone, it really tries on his patience.

I recommend this one to any Pride, MM fan of AJ Sherwood. You never know what world she'll take you next!

Glad return

I loved the Tribulations of Ross Young as a serial and then read it again when it was compiled into one. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to them and then there came this!
It was so good to be back with Ross and his sarcasm and the clan with their inability to behave. I laughed the whole way through

It’s a game? 😆🤣

Poor Ross. When he discovers his clan has gone to a “battle” he realizes they don’t know what LARPing is and don’t realize it”s a human game with fake weapons and spells. Now he’s got to damage control. He’s going to need ALL the cookies after this! Funny and a great slice of life quick read.

I love Ross!

This short was the perfect comedic relief I needed after a day like today. Ross is hilarious and seeing him deal with clans and LARPing had tears streaming down my face! We need more Ross! All the Ross in fact. He’s good for my soul, even if his “children” are nothing but walking headaches. 😂😂😂

So funny!

A super short, funny story about what happens when supernaturals join a human mock battle… Except the supernats don’t realize it’s pretend! So funny. Poor Ross does his best to contain the chaos, and Glenn comes to the rescue. Read Tribulations of Ross Young, Supernat PA first to get the most out of this short- it’ll make more sense that way.
